Tribute to Tiglath-Pileser

edit

It would be appropriate to note, in connection with the reference to Ahaz paying tribute to Tiglath-Pileser III, that this fact is memorialized in an Assyrina inscription as well. In an extensive list of the kings from who Tiglath-Pileser received tribute is included "Jehoahaz (Ia-u'-ha-zi) of Judah (Ia-u'-da-a-a)." [1] (I should note that the cited work is an abridgement of "Ancient Near Eastern Texts Relating to the Old Testament" [ANET], copyright Princeton University Press1950, 1955. The quoted reference is identified as ANET 282-284.)Opaanderson (talk) 16:22, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
