Ahmad Aqil al-KhatibAhmed Al Khateeb – All the main results when searching his name are ‘Ahmed Al Khateeb’, i.e. the Ministry of Tourism website, Bloomberg, Oxford Business Group, and pages on Arabian Business and Arab News; 'Ahmed Al Khateeb’ is also the most common spelling in media, see e.g. Arab News, Trade Arabia, Al Arabiya; while ‘Ahmad Al Khatib’ is the most common spelling used to refer to the Syrian president of 1970–71. Additional suggestions – userspace draft

edit

There is some additional info which this article could include, chiefly that he was responsible for the launch of Saudi Arabia’s tourism visa in 2019. I have prepared a userspace draft – see here (diff) for the proposed additions in detail (which include some copyediting).

To summarize these suggested updates:

Infobox

  • Changed image to more up-to-date one from his tenure as Minister of Tourism

Intro

  • Added where he is Minister of Tourism and that he Saudi Arabia’s first Minister of Tourism
  • Changed Hijri calendar dates to Gregorian
  • Added a line on the tourism visa

Life

  • Renamed 'Early life and career'
  • Changed Hijri date to Gregorian
  • Linked to Riyad Bank
  • Made clear which Crown Prince

Launch of Saudi Arabia’s tourism visa

  • Added as new fully sourced section

Current positions

  • Added chairmanship of Saudi Tourism Authority and Tourism Development Fund

If anyone has a moment to review these proposed additions and, if satisfied, transfer them to the mainspace, that would be appreciated. Any questions ping me here or on my talk page. Thank you. Turaif10 (talk) 00:08, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edit request – introduction

edit

Hi, on the advice of User:Z1720, I'm submitting my suggested edits to the intro as an edit request.

1. Change first sentence from:

Ahmed Al Khateeb (Arabic: أحمد الخطيب) is the minister of tourism.[1]

to:

Ahmed Al Khateeb (Arabic: أحمد الخطيب‎) is the first and current Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia.[2]

(Note replacement source in English which verifies he's the country's first tourism minister)

2. Change the second and third sentences, which use Hijri dates, from:

He occupied the post of president of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia since the 30th of Rajab, 1437H corresponding to 7 May, 2016 until the 4th of Shawwal, 1439H corresponding to 18 June, 2018.[3] He occupied the post of president of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia since the 30th of Rajab, 1437H corresponding to 7 May, 2016 until the 4th of Shawwal, 1439H corresponding to 18 June, 2018.[4] Al Khateeb was the Minister of Health in Saudi Arabia from the 9th of Rabi’ Thani, until the 22nd of Jumada al Thani, 1436 H.

to a single sentence using Gregorian calendar dates:

Between May 2016 and June 2018 he occupied the post of president of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, prior to which he served as the Minister of Health.[5][6]

(Note additional source)

3. Change the last sentence in the lead from:

He also worked as an advisor at the Saudi Royal Court[7]

to:

He has also worked as an advisor at the Saudi Royal Court.[8]

4. Change current photo in the infobox to this more recent one, which has been released and approved.

Any questions feel free to post on my talk page. Thank you. Turaif10 (talk) 21:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Y@Turaif10: This is done. I made a minor language edit to sentence 2 in paragraph 2 and changed the spelling of counselling to counseling. I also made a minor edit to the final sentence in paragraph 3 (changed at to in).
