POV renaming by User:Pyraechmes, unfortunately unblocked by an administrator

I hardly understood why the page "Ahmet Hacıosman" I created was suddenly renamed "Achmet Chatziosman", which is the obviously wrong transcription of his name through Greek. Ahmet Hacıosman is an ethnic Turk, his name is not normally written in the Greek alphabet in his own language. Then I looked through the other "contributions" of User:Pyraechmes on wikipedia. User:Pyraechmes has an obvious political agenda, Greek nationalism POV-pushing in every Greek-related article. I won't begin an edit war, I merely suggest that User:Pyraechmes should be permanently blocked from editing, as he already was some time ago. --Minorities observer (talk) 20:26, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

• I disagree. He is a Greek politician. Greek names have a tradiotional way to be written in latin alphabet.

"Χ" becomes "CH"

"ΤΖ" becomes "TZ"

etc.

In that way of writing the accent if you read it is "(h)Atsiosman" and not "Hatziosman" as his real name is. User:Pyraechmes Chrusts 17:55, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

• People, you are both discussing this based on the wrong premises. The sole real criterion to be used here is: which of the two spellings is more common in English? For instance, how does his own party or the Greek parliament spell his name in their English web publications? How does the English-language press spell him? Based on just a brief, cursory check, I would tend to the conclusion (surprising to myself) that the Greek-based "Chatziosman" may actually win out, but I'm open to be convinced otherwise.   • Moreover, the pronunciation of the Turkish c is j as in jail, it is not at all a ç as in China. He is an ethnic Turkish politician whose native language is not Greek, and the Greek alphabet can't render the Turkish c letter. --Minorities observer (talk) 21:49, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
