• There are a few duplicate links (including in the lead; the link to the Afghanistan conflict (1978–present) is there twice, for example). Best to go through and remove them.

• It notes excavation stopped in 1978 due to the conflict. Has there been any attempt to get started again? More curious myself, though if that can be added as well it would be good of course.

• Impressed by the number of images and maps that are included, which really benefit the article. I will note I have not reviewed licensing for any as I am not familiar enough with that process to do so properly, but I am going to trust they are all properly licensed and free.

• For the sources: I'd advise providing English translations of non-English titles, and to note the language of non-English works (most already are, but there's a few missing). Also cut down on the duplicate links for authors (Frank Holt, for example).

Hi Kaiser matias, thanks for your input. I have fixed the duplicate links, and the language issues for the sources. As to your inquiry, no large-scale excavations were able to be carried out during the US occupation because the surrounding areas were held by the Taliban. The only visits were by solitary travellers, who were able to record the looting in very general terms. I also think that it would be wise for archaeologists to be reluctant to draw the attention of the Taliban too much to the site, considering what happened to the Buddhas of Bamiyan. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 17:59, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
