"The flexible ground-based multi-mission system will be providing military commanders with a homeland defence and expeditionary air, land, and maritime forces capability for ground-based air defence/air-space coordination and long-range direct fire/NLOS support for ground engagement to defend against asymmetric and conventional threats" Does someone understand the military marketing speak well enough to make a few encyclopedic sentences out of this? —Michael Z. 2006-11-23 21:50 Z
- Done. That sentence basically says "this thing does everything everywhere". It adds nothing. I've removed it entirely. CraigWyllie (talk) 04:17, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
I can give you a rundown on what was supposed to happen with the ADATS when it was going to be in the US arsenal. I tested the ADATS, I was one of it's crew members for 3 years. I am new here, so I am not exactly sure what and where I would need to post on the ADATS, but I can give accurate information on this system. As Mzajac stated above, much of this article reads like a company brochure, apart from being rather poorly written. I don't know enough about this system to fix it, but if someone (Perhaps BlackKnight?) can give me some reliable info, I'd be happy to rewrite it. Dpenn89 (talk) 07:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
MMEV
editSince it was cancelled I removed the paragragh which explains what it was going to do, as it is redundent because the paragraphs above it reference that it was cancelled, thus anyone wishing to read about what the MMEV would have done can simply read the MMEV page which is linked to in the article.
I assume since the deleted paragraph was redundant whoever updated the article simply forgot to delete it when they were done.

Mobile Gun System
editThis has no relevance to this article! I quickly read through the Canadian Parliament pages and couldn't find any mention of the MGS (though MMEV and ADATS are mentioned); and there was nothing to support the statement concerning the Defence Minister! I have deleted these parts, leaving the reference.Glevum (talk) 21:17, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Manufacturer naming misleading
editThe article states The Lockheed Martin Air Defense Anti Tank System (MIM-146 ADATS) is . The original developper/manufacturer is Oerlikon in Switzerland. In the overall article Lockheed is nowhere mentioned again. Should the sentence be changed to The Oerlikon Air Defense Anti Tank System (US designation MIM-146 ADATS) is? (Bold here only to highlight my change proposal) --JuergenKlueser (talk) 06:57, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Seems there is no objection. So I am going for the change. --JuergenKlueser (talk) 17:37, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
