P-51 Circa 1972 I observed approximately eight Air Force of El Salvador P-51 Mustangs on the flight line at San Salvador. I have no photos or other documentation. LorenzoB (talk) 01:48, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Air Force of El SalvadorSalvadoran Air Force – Per WP:PRECISION, WP:COMMONNAME and WP:ESTABLISHED. "Salvadoran Air Force" is the literal translation of the Spanish term Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña, the current name of the organization, whereas the "Air Force of El Salvador" translates as Fuerza Aérea de El Salvador, an obsolete name. Authoritative English-language sources such as the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S. General Accounting Office and The New York Times refer to the organization as the Salvadoran Air Force, and the organization is already referred to as such in several places in the current Wikipedia page. Former aircraft

edit

FOX 52 You removed the "Former aircraft" section with the summary "not according to World Air Forces 2021". World Air Forces 2021 lists only aircraft that are currently in service, therefore I don't believe it is good enough reason to remove the list of former aircraft. - ZLEA T\C 00:36, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Let me add further with WP:PROVEIT: The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution - (World Air Forces 2021 Does not have historical aircraft is their guide) cheers FOX 52 talk! 00:48, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
World Air Forces 2021 is a great source for current aircraft, but its lack of former aircraft is not reason to remove an otherwise sourced list of former aircraft. - ZLEA T\C 02:47, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's NOT a source for "Former" aircraft. - FOX 52 talk! 03:40, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
FOX 52 I’m not sure what that comment is supposed to mean. Are you saying that there shouldn’t be a “Former aircraft” section because WAF 2021 does not cover them? - ZLEA T\C 15:47, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ZLEA: I Recommend you move your colossal retired table to a separate page with a title such as "List of historic Salvadoran military aircraft" - Cheers FOX 52 talk! 04:05, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
