Validity
editI came across this article while doing PROD patrol on a whim; a Google search indicates that this is a valid technology, but the article as it was when prodded used two paragraphs of language from one manufacturer's website and was quite likely intended as promotional for that company. Problem: the references I turned up in Google are mostly industrial suppliers' websites, and would be spammy; even a fairly strong Google News Archive result (upwards of 120 occurrences) is focused in trade publications, and are more press releases than anything else. So, the technology exists, and I suspect an article would be worthwhile, but with a lack of sources, I'll leave my changes at present and won't deprod it myself - I'll leave it for the reviewing admin to decide. - I was the tagger, and after a while, I sort of thought about removing it, but decided to let someone else decide. Looking at the links Tony gave, it's obvious it's used a lot, and now the copyvio is removed, it's a respectable stub. Kwsn(Ni!) 18:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Good stuff. Glad I helped! Tony Fox (arf!) review? 20:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
This page was most definitely hijacked by one manufacturer where in fairness there are many! they claim to be the origination of the device invention but are not as the technology was Pioneered by Sir Christopher Cockerell at the British Hovercraft Corp where it was marketed under the trade name "BHC Hoverpad" in the 1950's see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Cockerell — Preceding unsigned comment added by AerGlide (talk • contribs) 09:17, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
