.....The U.S.Navy originally broke down aircraft into two types: Type A, heavier than air, and Type B: lighter than air (LTA). .....Then divided LTA into A: rigid and B: limp. Thus the term Blimp. .....I entered the Navy in 1962, wanting to join a Blimp squadron. Shortly before I graduated,the last Blimp squadron was disbanded.
