Libri, Umbreit, KNV delisting of books

edit

Libri, Umbreit and KNV are not bookstore chains but wholesalers. Bookstores use their systems and logistics to order books. This means that if they all de-list a book it's almost impossible to order it at any given small neighborhood bookstore as well as a lot of chains. While I personally found this a great move, it has sparked some additional controversy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.179.146.94 (talk) 03:17, 28 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Permanent misquotes in this article - "Asylum Sluts"?!

edit

He called female asylum seekers "fugitive sluts" ("flüchtende Schlampen")? (However, you will pay for all your shabby doing because you have done a loss of several million euros with your misquotes and misrepresentations. Unlike my case 'Kachelmann' will happen to you like a gentle breeze. Where is heard in my speech e.g. "asylum sluts"?) Some weeks ago a German court ruled that a newspaper has to pay Jörg Kachelmann €635,000 in compensation for the negative media coverage. --91.60.13.160 (talk) 14:14, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

You're right, i've listened to the whole speech and could hear none of that phrase. I therefore deleted that part. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.68.131.69 (talk) 14:30, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Germany as a "muslim garbage dump"

edit

Is there a source explicitly telling this comment provoked particular controversy? It seems to me it has been chosen specifically for the lede as it has the most potential for creating outrage among the readers. I'd be a bit more careful with BLPs of well-integrated Turkish immigrants like Akif Pirinçci. Paul Keller (talk) 13:52, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

"gay rights"

edit

Actually he has never said or written anything against "gay rights". Maybe you shouldn't base a wiki-page just on articles from the german mainstream press, who naturally hate him with the passion of a thousand suns.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.107.68.9 (talk) 20:28, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why the German pronunciation?

edit

Even the German Wikipedia uses the Turkish pronunciation and the stress is on the second syllable. Maybe news anchor stress his name on the first syllable, but that is because they don't know better. --94.218.180.60 (talk) 17:52, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not booed off the stage

edit

Pirincci was *NOT* booed of the stage at the Pegida rally, although some German media sympathetic to Pegida tried to paint it that way. What happened is that Pirincci is not a good orator in public, so the audience got simply bored and picked up the Pegida slogan of "Widerstand, Widerstand!" again ("Resistance, resistance!", i. e. "against the Merkel regime", as Pegida puts it). In effect, they were actually voicing their agreement with his views that Merkel would be supposedly trying to "replace" Germans with Muslims and refugees, and he should just stop talking because he couldn't say what he had to say in an interesting, exciting, and rousing way. A few German media outlets tried to correct the false statement that he had been "booed off the stage in disagreement", partly by linking to the full video recording of the incident on YouTube that was also broadcast a number of times on public nation-wide TV, and you don't hear a single boo or other voicing of disapproval, although he can't finish his speech in the video because the audience got so bored with his long-winded diatribes and run-on sentences that they started drowning him in "Resistance, resistance!" chants in order to tell him, "Alright, we agree with you that Merkel must go for being a dirty Muslim lover, but just shut up, will ya!" --2003:EF:13CE:6A26:D959:E3F6:E033:14B3 (talk) 10:16, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
