Assessment
editI have assessed this as a Stub, as it only contains the basic information on the topic, and of low importance, as it is a highly specific topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 14:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Translation
editMy mother, who does not speak Inuvialuit or Dene, lived there for a few years and was told the name translated to, "The place where I killed the bear." Can anyone confirm or refute this? Is it perhaps the contextual meaning of the place?Lesbro (talk) 18:26, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- According to the two sources, Northwest Territories Official Community Names and The Legislative Assembly it means barren-ground grizzly place but it's possible that there may be other ways of translating it. I noticed that the Aklavik web site does not appear to translate the name. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 07:32, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Aklavik-ish in London, about 1963
editAbout 1963 in West London (UK), I met a young lady who was living there with her family. Her name was Sharon Kerr. I think her father was a bookseller. Was he Fox Kerr (or that family)? They stayed near Ealing Common for a few months, then went back to Aklavil.
Any idea what happened to her? Sent a few letters but it faded away. 49.147.198.64 (talk) 00:35, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
