1931 pop, etc
editFor the record, in the 1931 census report the population of Jalama was included with that of 'Attil and not given separately. Zerotalk 21:51, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- can i add that to the article? How should it be cited? Tiamuttalk 17:09, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
SWP has many places with this name. This one is SWP II, 152. I can't find it in Guerin, apparently Samarie I, 326 is not the right one. Zerotalk 01:45, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks a lot! I think the Guerin p.326 is Jalamah..it is in the area of the other places mentioned there, like Sandala, Israel, Muqeible and Jenin. Cheers, Huldra (talk) 20:48, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
- No, I'm sure it isn't. This Jalama is 32km from Sandala, but Guerin says he walked between them in 15 minutes. Looking at a map, I see a different Jalama only 2km from Sandala in the direction Guerin walked.
I don't know if that other Jalama has an article. It is Jalamah. Villages close to this Jalama, like Jett, are in Samarie II. Zerotalk 00:35, 25 October 2011 (UTC)- Well, I never took French (but add Guerin-links for those who did). Guerin often transliterate the Arabic name completely different from todays version, however, helpfully, he mostly also supply the Arabic spelling. Now, I don´t read/speak Arabic either...but I just compare the Arabic names in, say, Jalamah with p.326. And I agree that if this Jalama is in Guerin, it is in Samarie II. I am looking through it, but so far, I cannot find it there. Cheers, Huldra (talk) 15:13, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
