Reality of Surah Al-Mulk

edit

Some people have posted the virtues of Surah (Chapter) Al-Mulk which are contradicting to the 2nd Ayat (verse) of the very Surah. In this Ayat Allah states that the only purpose of creation of "Life and Death" is to see who does good works in this life. Now if we review all of the above virtues (posted till Sept/04/2009), they state that ONLY RECITING this Surah guarantees the paradise. Action (Deed) or Reciting (Read)? All of the above quotes appear to have been associated to Muhammad (Messenger of Allah). How could it be that the Messenger himself would say something that contradicts the Book (Quran)? Actually, in response to Btufail, there is no contradiction at all. Nowhere in the virtues mentioned does it say that "only reciting this surah and not doing any other good deed would ensure paradise". It says that whoever makes a habit of reading this surah every day would have the benefit of having the surah intercede on his/her behalf until the person is forgiven. Death and life were indeed created to test people and see who does the best deeds. Reading the Quran is itself a very good deed/action. I doubt that a person would recite this surah every night and still not do other virtuous deeds, such as reading salat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rizvirizvi (talkcontribs) 07:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
