Death date!

edit

See: http://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.defense.gouv.fr/ differing data is given, to FOURNIER, Henri Alban, *October 3, 1886. Died on September 26, 1914, near Vaux-lès-Palameix (55). My (probably outdated) copy of the text (edited by Daniel Leuwers, Livre de Poche 1971), gives the date as 22nd september, it also gives the place as Les Eparges, but it is near Vaux-lès-Palameix anyway. I couldn't even manage to search that defence site that you listed. Can someone familiar with it offer the URL of the actual page which has the information on Alain-Fournier? The link on the french page is dead. Another site here has images of memorials which all give 22/09/1914. Petitsouris (talk) 11:16, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction on death

edit

'He died fighting', which is the formulation in the main text, doesn't seem to fit in with the claim in the footnote that the soldiers of his patrol were 'executed' for violating the rules of law (presumably after being captured). 62.73.69.121 (talk) 14:38, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
