Mahmoud Hamchari Prize etc.
editI am removing the reference to Munich Massacre. Firstly, it might be hard for people to grasp this, but everyone who is accused of being involved in the Munich Massacre by Israel is not automatically involved in the real world. Secondly, the reference to Munich Massacre is purely WP:COATRACK. You don't refer to Begin everywhere as "involved in the Deir Yassin massacre" do you? Thirdly, what does having a prize named after a guy who was PLO's man in France, have to do with massacre itself. If you have any evidence that Menargues supported or the Franco-Arab-Association was involved in the Munich massacre please provide it. Kingsindian ♝♚ 07:39, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Since I have you here, could you kindly explain how you missed the whole bit about him saying Jews built a wall to keep themselves away from the ritually impure? That seems kinda important when trying to figure out why he lost his job, don't you think? Do you think it was NPOV to omit that information, which was in the BBC article you used?
- As to Hamshari, Have you read the source? Your whole complaint is IDONTLIKEIT. No More Mr Nice Guy (talk) 16:28, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- I already gave my reasons about the Hamshari award; if you address them, I will reply. As to the rest, I don't want to clutter up this section: you can open a new section if you wish. I will reply there. I created the article as a stub, with the barest details. I did not object to your expansion of the article. Kingsindian ♝♚ 17:48, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- COATRACK is an essay about articles, it doesn't apply here. The guys who awarded the prize explain right where they say who won it who it's named for and that he was assassinated so that seems relevant. I can reword it to say he was suspected of involvement with a link to Operation Bayonet if you think that's better. If not, could you re-frame your objection in terms of policy or guidelines? - I quoted the essay because it is relevant. The statement is ostensibly talking about the award, but it is inserted to demonstrate a connection with the Munich Massacre. If you want me to quote policy, I can do it: WP:UNDUE, failing WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV, WP:NPOV etc. It is not disputed that the guy was assassinated by Israel, but we only have Israel's word that he was involved in the Munich massacre. In any case, that Menargues got an award is relevant: the Munich Massacre isn't. Also, according to the French Wikipedia he got several other awards, including the Prix Pierre Mille. His Amazon page lists the Prix Pierre Mille and the SCOOP award. I have added them as well. Kingsindian ♝♚ 20:02, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- The guys who gave him the award explain explicitly who it's named for. The source thinks its relevant, and there's no reason to censor it here. No More Mr Nice Guy (talk) 21:13, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- The guys who gave him the award only state that the guy was murdered by the Mossad. Are you going to include that and not include why he was murdered? Kingsindian ♝♚ 21:39, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- How about "assassinated for alleged involvement" or "suspicion of involvement" or whatever you like that doesn't strictly say he did it, with a link here? No More Mr Nice Guy (talk) 21:45, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- As I said already, there is nothing except Israel's accusation that the guy was involved with Munich. And as I said already, there is no reason at all why the Munich massacre should be mentioned in an unrelated article. I do not see why we have to go into the history of Hamshari here. The guy was the Palestinian delegate in France. The award is named the "Palestine prize", that is enough. Kingsindian ♝♚ 22:00, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
