editA fair bit of information is provided but needs a lot of cleanup and have still marked it as a stub --Amxitsa 14:51, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Alan Turner
editOk lets get something straight here,Alan did not leave the cast so he should be included in the present characters not the returning characters,Richard Thorp only took sick leave which isnt a offical departure from a soap,so please keep him in the present characters,Thank you Brianwazere 17:10, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Who Created The Alan Turner Character?
editI have removed the assertion that the character was created by Kevin Laffan. Mr Laffan was one of a number of people who had creative input into the show in the 1980s, the producer, Anne W Gibbons, and others, made major contributions. It is not fair or accurate to state that Mr Laffan was Alan Turner's sole creator.
Duration.
editI do agree that 1982-2009-2010 is a bit out of place. He only took sick leave from the soap and has had other periods where he has been unseen for a while so am glad it was corrected from 1982-2009,2010- to 1982-present
I have also added the dates of his marriage to Jill Turner as in an early 1985 episode he says he had been married 23 years and they divorced in 1984. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benny1982 (talk • contribs) 17:45, 27 July 2010 (UTC) Benny1982--Benny1982 (talk) 17:48, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
I've begun a discussion regarding the atrocious state of character articles within the Emmerdale universe. These articles stand to be deleted unless corrective action is taken. Please join the conversation at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Emmerdale#Serious problems across the board; let's start with character articles.
