The subject of this article seems to be repeatedly adding recent publications for the purpose of self-promotion. His work on inverse problems is notable as evidenced by hundreds of citations, but these are not:
Tarantola, Albert, Elements for Physics - Quantities, Qualities, and Instrinsic Theories", Springer, 2006 (free PDF version). - 5 citations
Tarantola, Albert, 2008. Image and Reciprocal Image of a Measure; Compatibility Theorem, arXiv:0810.4749 (PDF version). - this is only a preprint, certainly not notable
Tarantola, Albert, 2006. Popper, Bayes, and the Inverse Problems, Nature Physics, Vol. 2, August 2006, 492-494 (PDF version). -- 7 citations according to Web of Science

An anon user has just removed living people tag and put a date of death but without source. Anyone have an obituary or other confirmation? (will revert until evidence found) Billlion (talk) 18:50, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
