Reign
editIs it worth mentioning in the article that, if the monarchy hadn't been abolished in 1918, Albrecht would have become the longest reigning King of Bavaria with almost 41 years of rule? EA210269 (talk) 07:17, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia:No original research policy forbids synthesis. It is a published fact that Albrecht's father died in 1955, and that Albrecht died in 1996. However, I cannot think of a published source which has put these three facts together and said "Albrecht would have become the longest reigning King of Bavaria". Wikipedia only summarizes what has already published. Noel S McFerran (talk) 12:46, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough. There propably is a source somewhere out there, counting reigns of monarchs and would-be-monarchs but considering how trivial the fact is, I can't be bothered searching for it.EA210269 (talk) 12:56, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't think No original research refers to simple facts that can easily be calculated without possible contradiction by everyone, and which seem to fit into a fine nice-to-read article according to the feeling of its author. --84.154.75.5 (talk) 15:58, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- How do you know that Albrech would not have abdicated had he become king? How do you know that the monarchy would not have been abolished between his accession and his death? How do you know that Albrecht would not have been assassinated had he become king? There are just too many ifs. Surtsicna (talk) 16:05, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
