Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: move the pages to Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1809) and Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1890) at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 08:19, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Albrecht von Bernstorff → Albrecht von Bernstorff (Prussian diplomat, born 1809)
- Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff (1890-1945) → Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff (Prussian diplomat, born 1890)
– or the second one could be moved to Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff (German resistor). Both of these people were named Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff. That name redirects to Albrecht von Bernstorff, but the article about Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff (1890-1945) is actually about twice as popular with Wikipedia readers (pageviews here). Wikipedia doesn't ordinarily use lifespan ranges for disambiguation of people. Both of them were Prussian diplomats. I suspect the one born in 1890 is more notable for his resistance to Nazi Germany than for his service as a diplomat. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:46, 19 August 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Safari ScribeEdits! - Move to Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1809) and Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1890). The nationality is unnecessary. We don't usually use German titles in article titles, but if we do then both should be Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff or neither. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:30, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

- Move to Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1809) and Albrecht von Bernstorff (diplomat, born 1890) per Necrothesp. — Amakuru (talk) 10:27, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
Voluntary?
editIn two places the article says von Bernstorff's military service was voluntary, but in one other place it says he "had to do his military service", which makes it sound involuntary. This should be clarified. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:46, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
