Talk:Alexander Kent

I think the information in this article should be combined into the Douglas Reeman article and this one should become a redirect. Comments? MK2 02:47, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I disagree (but not strongly). I know the author is the same person, but the works published do have a quite different character and there is milage in keeping the two types seperate and to develop the Bolitho stories and Kent line seperate from the general war stories as authored under his real name. I would not however object too much.

What we could do with, rather than change to setup, is more editorial copy, i.e. more information series description, book entries etc. Kevinalewis 10:19, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • But this article makes it sound like it was Kent, not Reeman, who served in the Royal Navy in WWII and worked as a teacher and movie advisor and published his first novel in 1958. All of this biographical stuff should be in Reeman's article not Kent's. MK2 04:48, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
that is a good point - however all I would suggest is that as "Alexander Kent's" books are such a seperate entity to the the rest of Reeman's stories they should be listed and discussed in a seperate Richard Bolitho stories page, so AK redeirects to DR and within that article, a series titles has a link to an article on the Bolitho series and the name AK. The DR article then should contain all the bio, except any special AK material. Does that seem reasonable. Kevinalewis 09:17, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Actually there already is a pretty good article on Richard Bolitho which has a good discussion on the character plus a complete bibliography. MK2 05:45, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
