Alexander McRae (1829–1862) → Alexander McRae (American soldier) – Current disambiguation is nonstandard. Alexander McRae (soldier) is not desirable due to Alexander Duncan McRae. Open to suggestions for better disambiguation. Hog Farm Talk 01:03, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 01:54, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment. A perusal of Category:Union Army officers presents such examples as Robert Anderson (Civil War), James Cameron (Union colonel), Charles R. Codman (Civil War), John Davis (American Civil War soldier), Patrick Kelly (Civil War), James T. Kirk (Union officer), John J. Williams (American Civil War) or Thomas Williams (Union general). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:50, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
- Most need to be renamed. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:30, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Although I'm not altogether sure why this junior officer has an article in the first place. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:29, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support renaming. Would not oppose proposed parenthetical qualifier and would support any alternative qualifier per "Comment", above, such as Alexander McRae (Union captain) or Alexander McRae (American Civil War officer). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:28, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Note that we try to never disambiguate by specific rank. Those so disambiguated should not have been. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:51, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
