There are many references to Alexander Spottswood (with two t's), so the article should make mention of this other commonly used spelling. It was another Wikipedia article (Blackbeard) referring to Spottswood that prompted me to create the other, duplicate article (Alexander Spottswood), which now redirects to this article. --Dan East July 7, 2005 00:43 (UTC)

I've made changes the following articles which all referred to Spottswood: Blackbeard, Queen Anne's Revenge, and Rappahannock River. --Dan East July 7, 2005 01:19 (UTC)

Use of the term ″Indians″

edit

In the beginning of the article I can see some effort to use more reflected terms such as ″indian nations″ or similar expressions. Further down only ″indians″ are mentioned, although specific tribes are addressed. I'd love to see a more differentiated approach to the term ″indians″ which incorperates a non-colonial view.
