pronunciation
editAs a non-Spanish speaker, I am curious about the pronunciation of Cuarón. Anyone know?--71.3.236.196 23:37, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- qwa-RON. The "o" sounds like "row," not "on." :) Maria 03:53, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Is there any more information on the relationship between Cuarón and Naomi Klein? He seems to be about to release a short film on her website with the same title as her upcoming book. http://www.naomiklein.org/main#

Gravity
editAlfonso Cuarón Orozco (Spanish pronunciation: [alˈfonso kwaˈɾon oˈrosko]; born 28 November 1961) is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, and film producer known for such films as A Little Princess, Y Tu Mamá También, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of Men, and Gravity.
How can he be known for Gravity when it's not even released? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.144.223 (talk) 23:46, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Nationality
editThe page says he "is a British-based[1] Mexican-born film director". Does it matter where he is based? He is still Mexican, so why should this page state that he is British-based, and Mexican-born. The best option is to state he is a Mexican film director.
Also, the page states "becoming the first Latino to win the award". Latino is a description usually given to people living in the U.S. He is Latin American, not a Latino.
Nationality
editThe cited source for Cuarón being British begins by saying that "He might be Mexican but". It continues with "Hailing himself as an honorary Brit, he said: ‘I am a UK resident....'" This doesn't amount to him being called a British director. Not even close.
The evidence is that he was born in Mexico and lives in Britain (hence "UK resident"). He does not have British nationality. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 00:46, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Roman Polanski Comment
editThe Roman Polanski sentence may be biased. Artist like Asia Argento have also signed the petition and is not covered in there bio.
In 2009, Cuarón signed a petition which called for the release of film director Roman Polanski, who was arrest in Switzerland in relation to his 1977 charge for drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl.[31][32][33]
- I don't think it's biased, it's irrelevant altogether. In any way it affects Cuarón's life, or even Polanski's. (CC) Tbhotch™ 00:11, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
