First name
editWhat is his first name? Bubnys calls him "A. Klimaitis". Sigitas 14:51, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- In this review of "K n u t S t a n g , Kollaboration und Massenmord. Die litauische Hilfspolizei, das Rollkommando Hamann und die Ermordung der litauischen Juden, Frankfurt am Main, 1996, 286 S.", he is also called "A. Klimaitis", not Jonas Klimaitis [1]. Sigitas 13:50, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Wording
editLiberate??? Of Jews???--82.131.6.67 17:32, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- "liberate Lithuania from Soviet occupation". Anyway, I removed it until we will know for sure if this unit engaged in fights with retreating soviet troops. Sigitas 17:34, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Death
editI found that book "The Context of Mass Destruction: Agents and Prerequisites of the Holocaust in Lithuania. MacQueen Holocaust Genocide Studies.1998; 12: 27-48" talks more about him and his death but cannot find free copy of this book. Sigitas 14:45, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Weird
editThanks to Dr. Dan's copy edit the article now appears to be about Algirdas Kilimaitis and his unit, which was NOT subordinate to LAF and PGoL and then ... some completely unrelated pogrom that was apparently instigated by Sipo and SD. And the number of victims of this, apparently completely unrelated pogrom, has apparently been exaggerated. Why is the pogrom mentioned in the article at all if, apparently, per present text, it has nothing to do with Klimaitis and his unit which was not subordinate to LAF and PGoL and whose members, apparently did not participate in the apparent pogrom whose numbers of victims was apparently exaggerated? I mean, wouldn't it be normally considered UNDUE to include information on a random pogrom in an article on a random person if the two apparently had nothing to do with each other as the present version tries to suggest?radek (talk) 11:11, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Reliable source for Algirdas Klimaitis' group not a partisan unit?
editThe article states that Algirdas Klimaitis' group "was not subordinate to the Lithuanian Activist Front or the Provisional Government of Lithuania." This is substantiated by a reference to the (Lithuanian) history book by Arūnas Bubnys, Lithuanian Security Police and the Holocaust (1941–1944). However, as can be seen in the Wikipedia entry for the Kaunas pogrom, where the same claim is made about Klimaitis' group having nothing to do with LAF or the provisional government, no actual substantiation of that claim is provided - but simply the author's assertion. We need more than a historian's assertion. If the book itself by that historian provides proper sources, let's have them. -The Gnome (talk) 06:49, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
Pogrom against Jews and communists
editThe Klimatis’s pogrom in June 1941 was targeted against Jews, but also against communists and was under the constant supervision of German Einsatzkommando. It is documented in German reports from Kaunas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.192.84.99 (talk) 02:41, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
