Alice's own talk page

edit

Alice herself has tried to improve the article. I've reverted her changes and pointed her to the conflict of interest policy. I asked her to post the information here for folks to include in the article if they so desire, but she posted it on her own talk. Make of it what you will. - UtherSRG (talk) 19:16, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

thanks, I didn't understand the difference between the talk pages as I'm not a wiki expert, the only reason i signed up is because i was told i needed to. Thank you for sending me a personal note explaining that I needed to come here.
I don't understand the need for proof of legitimacy of my existence as an artist but I'm trying to provide sources.
As for being relevant to a city, here's the Best of Ashland, Oregon where I was chosen in 2020 as favorite singer/musician: https://www.sneakpre.com/ashland-business-grapevine/item/the-best-of-ashland-part-2 I also won first place several times in the 90's and have had mention in many recent years as well.
For music charts relevant to my kind of music: The Folk Alliance International Folk Chart for March 2022: https://acousticmusicscene.com/2022/04/12/fai-folk-radio-charts-march-2022/
and April: https://acousticmusicscene.com/2022/05/10/fai-folk-radio-charts-april-2022/
Here's one with my 2018 Release One With the Tide: https://www.folkradio.org/chart/january-2018/
Here's the Roots Music Report in 2015 which shows my album Swim and songs from it. https://www.rootsmusicreport.com/charts/view/song/genre/folk/weekly/2015-04-14/2015-04-14
Here two songs from the 2015 album were still charting in 2021: https://www.rootsmusicreport.com/charts/view/song/sub_genre/alternative-folk/weekly/2021-08-07/2021-08-07
Here's one from 2007: https://www.rootsmusicreport.com/charts/view/song/sub_genre/alternative-folk/weekly/2021-08-07/2021-08-07
I know my other albums also charted on these and on an Americana chart. Is this enough or do I need to keep searching for more?
Awards: my 2013 album If I Were An Otter: Songs for Kids of All Ages received a Parents Choice Award. I have the physical award, but I can't find it online. I could upload if that would help. That album is in many libraries across the US and the title track has over 300k streams on spotify and my songs are on over 300 playlists on spotify including editorial, algorithmic and user playlists. Here's a review in No Depression of that album: https://www.nodepression.com/great-kids-music-heidi-swedberg-alice-dimicele-the-banjo-and-putumayo-americana/

@Alicedimicele: Regarding "legitimacy of existence": Merely existing is not a criterion for inclusion on Wikipedia. The standard for notability is signfificant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Please have a look at Wikipedia:Golden rule.
For musicians, we have additional ways the artist can merit a Wikipedia article, listed in WP:MUSICBIO. Which of those criteria are met? It is not clear to me. If you can answer that, it would be helpful.
The list of sources above include a number of blogs. Blogs are self-published and are therefore not usually considered reliable unless they ar blogs from a recognized expert or journalist. Articles that provide only a trivial mention also don't count, except for chart listings, if the charts are nationwide charts. ~Anachronist (talk) 15:11, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
see above links to music charts. those are not blogs. I've had coverage in Rock N Reel which is NOT a blog but a magazine and several other magazines that are both print and online subscription (like no depression which is also linked above) Most of which do not give their content away for free so its hard to reference without sharing photos of the actual articles. Same for the dozens of newspaper articles I have from years of touring including feature stories, interviews, etc which are all hard copy from physical newspapers. Should I be scanning and uploading these? Over the 35 years I've gotten a lot of coverage... but most is not online.
Americana Highways is highly regarded in my genre as is writer John Apice who includes a good bit about my record in his monthly article here: https://americanahighways.org/2022/03/30/grooves-cuts-ed-sullivan-conservative-or-just-smart/
Roots music report is also highly regarded and I've liked to the charts above here is a review too:
