"However, in recent years, Kramer has stated that the only original live recording on the album is Ace Frehley's guitar. In a recent televised interview, he also stated the only original live recording on the album is Peter Criss's drums." Is this a typo on the name or has he said that each is the 'only original'? If the latter, then clearly it conflicts! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.61.169 (talk) 23:21, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Major Issues

edit

This article has some inconsistencies that need addressing. Most glaringly, subsequent paragraphs assert that the album has never been certified beyond "Gold" status, but it has been awarded "Platinum" status. Both cannot be true. Also, a place called "Tri-Cities, Wyoming" is listed as a city in which the album was recorded. There is no "Tri-Cities, Wyoming." I'd like to see the source for this fact. Now someone has come in to list this album as 9x platinum. But this conflicts with gold and the 4x platinum in other places in the article. Unless someone cites a good source, I'm striking all three. This is ridiculous. Monkey Bounce (talk) 03:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I found a site which has Kiss's total U.S. album sales on it, Alive has sold 2 million copies, not 4 million or 9 million. The source site is http://www.greasylake.orgPreceding unsigned commented added by 107.11.139.81, 22:05, September 10, 2017
I don't see greasylake.org as a reliable source since it's a fan page with user-generated content. Binksternet (talk) 23:35, 14 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

No one really knows how many copies this album has sold through the years, my wild guess would be around 3 million or more, its been almost 40 years since it's release, until they update the certification its remains at gold. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.210.87.82 (talk) 21:25, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Allmusic.com review states it at 4 million, but who knows! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.210.87.82 (talk) 21:28, 5 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Alive has been eligible for the platinum award and multiplatinum award but since it was released prior to 1976 it was not eligible for the awards, so for now it remains gold. It has in fact from many sources, sold a little over 4 million copies since it's release, this was stated on allmusic.com's website. Take it with a grain of salt until they do an audit for the albums. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.210.87.82 (talk) 02:06, 8 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Alive has only sold around 2 million copies from a recent audit done on Kiss albums. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.79.77.69 (talk) 21:14, 11 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Since It's release, Alive has only sold around 2 million copies to date, according to a recent audit.

In the 70's if it sold 2 million albums, it would be considered 4 million since it was a double album. It did not meet the criteria of 100 minutes for each side, the riaa site still says it is gold. It has not been certified above gold for forty years, I would imagine it's past gold by now, and pass the million mark too. I found a site that had the information it sold 1.8 million copies as of 2016, So well have to wait for any new certifications. – Preceding unsigned commented added by 107.11.139.81, 21:06, May 16, 2017
I have found site which has Kiss's total U.S. sales on it, Alive has sold 2 million copies but needs an upgraded certification to multi-platinum. The source website is http://www.greasylake.org. – Preceding unsigned commented added by 107.11.139.81, 22:00, September 10, 2017

I've owned at least three copies myself. Let's add up all users' totals. FiggazWithAttitude (talk) 21:16, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Needs a disambiguation page

edit

Hi "Alive!" is also a book and film about the survivors of the Andes plane crash of 13th October 1972. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.205.191.137 (talk) 15:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Strictly speaking, the film is 'Alive'. But yes, you were right about the disambiguation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.3.125 (talk) 02:46, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
