Infobox request
editHello! I would like to request an infobox for the All-Pro team in the National Football League. The information that I would like it to have should be pretty basic, I just don't know enough about the coding.
I would like for this information to go on the page for each YEAR (for example 1999 All-Pro Team), and I can fill in the details after the fact. I would like to have the following information on it if possible:
- season = [nfl season]
- league mvp = [player], [position], [team]
- hall of famers (or HOFers) = [player], [position], [team]
- previous year = [previous year's all-pro team]
- next (or following) year = [next year's all-pro team]
That's pretty much all we should need. I mainly just need the "previous/next" option to easily navigate from year to year.
Once this is set up, I can copy/paste all the info going back to the beginning of time. Thanks!
Prestige
editThe All-Pro designation, while not officially sanctioned by the NFL, is generally considered a more prestigious honor than the NFL's official all-star designation, a Pro Bowl recognition: a minimum of twice as many Pro Bowlers are selected as first and second team All-Pro slots combined, and Pro Bowl selections often drop out (including all Super Bowl players since 2010), allowing a lesser player to also receive the honor by default,
The underlined sentence is confusing. If for example, both the first and second AP teams have 5 players each, does this mean there are at least 2 * (5 + 5) = 20 Pro Bowlers? Is there a source for this formula? Artificial Nagger (talk) 03:40, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- It's likely WP:OR, but it might be somewhat close as 88 intitial players were selected for the 2022 Pro Bowl,[1] before replacements were named for Super Bowl and injuries.—Bagumba (talk) 05:22, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
Why do we limit it to solely the AP, PFWA, and SN?
editHonest question; why don't we cover the PFF or SI All-Pro teams, among others? The Kip (talk) 19:45, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- They would need to have independent coverage, whose mention on the page would not be considered WP:UNDUE. —Bagumba (talk) 01:35, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
