Story summary

edit

Is it really necessary to give a play-by-play of every issue of this comic? It seems like the summary could be quite a bit more concise. Nareek 12:50, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

The grammar and writing is also atrocious. I will make an attempt to summarize while also correcting the more glaring grammatical errors and sentence structure abnormalities. 214.3.138.234 (talk) 14:59, 23 December 2009 (UTC)SteveReply

Fair use rationale for Image:All Star Superman Cover.jpg

edit

Image:All Star Superman Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

B-Class Assesment required

edit

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. I gave this a C but it is close to a B and has potential to go all the way. Things to do:
  • Work through those issue by issue breakdowns from Grant Morrison and integrate them into the PH
  • Trim the plot back a bit
  • Make sure the plot has suitable primary sourcing - what issues did events take place in?
  • More reviews - I'll look around for more but if people see them throw them in
  • Sales figures - I'll look them up and drop them in
As that all comes together it should easily make a B but, more importantly, the article has all the elements in place to shot for FA and above. (Emperor (talk) 16:20, 29 October 2008 (UTC))Reply

I will add on to Reception. I will also attempt to brush up on the plot, I did a quick rundown here and there. I will present the plot in chronological order. I will also check the sales, although I don't know if I can find any good info. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 06:00, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Foreshadowing for canon Superman

edit

Is it worth noting that some of the events of All Star Superman (Pa Kent's death and the New Krypton moment) are re-used in the current Superman titles? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.130.214.251 (talk) 18:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Probably not given that they were just inspired by the same material namely the film and silver age stuff. 65.183.214.150 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:59, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Logo Design

edit

Since the logo for All Star Superman was designed by famous book designer Chip Kidd, doesn't that deserve a mention somewhere? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.173.242.233 (talk) 13:40, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Deleted: The 12 Labors of Superman

edit

I’ve removed the section titled The 12 Labors of Superman because it seemed to serve no purpose, there was no explanation for it, and it didn’t flow. Its content was as follows.

In an interview with Newsarama, Morrison lists the 12 Labors[1]

  1. Superman saves the first manned mission to the Sun.
  2. Superman brews the Super–Elixir.
  3. Superman answers the Unanswerable Question.
  4. Superman chains the Chronovore.
  5. Superman saves Earth from Bizarro–Home.
  6. Superman returns from the Underverse.
  7. Superman creates life.
  8. Superman liberates Kandor/cures cancer.
  9. Superman defeats Solaris.
  10. Superman conquers Death.
  11. Superman builds an artificial heart for the Sun.
  12. Superman leaves the recipe/formula to make Superman 2.

I will simply reference these in the overview and lead section, as that is a core component of the series. Dcdiehardfan (talk) 06:02, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
