Proposed merges
editI support the proposed merge of WVMR, WVLS, and WCHG with this article. — Athaenara ✉ 09:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- (The post above refers to the {{mergeto}} and {{mergefrom}} proposals which were added by BrokeThird3 in December 2007.) — Athaenara ✉ 04:00, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- As of August 11, 2008, the merge requested by User:BrokeThird3 (which Athaenara supported) took place. The WCHG, WVLS, and WVMR articles were merged into Allegheny Mountain Radio. - NeutralHomer • Talk 04:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Manual of style
editJust for the record, this is the section of the MoS I was referring to in my most recent edit: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(capital_letters)#Section_headings - Dravecky (talk) 03:00, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Of the many rules of Wikipedia, that is the one that bugs me most. "Manual of Style" looks more professional than "Manual of style". Having that lower-case "s" on "style" looks sloppy and lopsided to me. But, I understand your changes. Take Care...NeutralHomer • Talk 03:20, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
About the abbreviation "WVPC"
editWVPC redirects here, but upon googling, I found out that WVPC stands for too many things, for example, West Virginia Patent Connections, Windows Virtual PC, etc. And Windows Virtual PC seems to be the major meaning if I should choose one. But WVPC as a station code seems to be a minor meaning, so I think a disambiguation page or altering of redirection would be needed. Okw1003 (talk) 12:37, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, call letters for the radio station would seem to be the default meaning. The others are infrequently (if ever) used acronyms. Brian Powell (talk) 13:49, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- You should always remember that this is the "English" Wikipedia, not the "United States" Wikipedia. In the US WVPC may be used as a call sign, but out of there, other meanings are used more frequently. Okw1003 (talk) 06:51, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- If there are other meanings that come up and they are notable, then the call sign can be moved. It isn't that big of a deal. WVPC would actually be a disambig page anyway, if that were the case. - NeutralHomer • Talk • 18:26, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
