Neutrality of the Band section
editThis section totally sounds as if it was written by a member of the band. Can someone please make it sound professional? hornplayer2 (talk) 04:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Allen High Alma Mater
editI am an 2004 graduate and wanted the words to Allen High (TEXAS) Alma Mater. I have the song but no lyrics. I remeber that at the school there were posters in some rooms with the words and I know we ended it with "...Allen High." help, thanks.
So give a cheer for the Blue and the White, waving forever. Forever proud of our school today, May she live ever. We'll sing a song of our school today, Cheer as we go our way. On to success to stay. Dear Old Allen High
Lawson Gage
editThis is a very interesting topic, but is there any lasting worth from this stunt? Would it be more appropriate to stick this in a sex-related article, and not in a high school topic.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.190.27.184 (talk • contribs) .

The Allen High School page is very raw, and the only current event worth talking about is this incident. Since we don’t have a “sex-related article” section, it should go in the main article. The situation is truly the cause of much debate at school, and many people are only finding out about it through this Wikipedia page. I ask that the Lawson Gage article be reinstated, at least until more noteworthy content is compiled.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheBoy765 (talk • contribs) .
- This is not an acceptable event to add to the article. It's completely unverifiable and also completeley non-notable. The section will not be replaced. — Scm83x hook 'em 01:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the youtube video has been deleted and removed from the site after receiving a 4.5/5 rating. --208.190.29.201 16:24, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
It makes you wonder if perhaps the Allen High School administration forced the student to remove that video. This is of course just speculation. Life is good 21:11, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
It also makes we wonder what you guys are talking about? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.136.64.56 (talk) 06:15, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Controversy
editWhat happened to the controversy section which discussed the Allen problem with methamphetamines? Is this too much truth to handle? We are trying to BUILD the page, not deconstruct it. We wish to add both positive and negative information, but we have to start somewhere. Please refrain from deleting entire sections without discussion.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheBoy765 (talk • contribs) .

The Band
editAnybody know a source that can confirm if Allen High School has the world's largest high school band/escadrille?
it may be the largest, but it is NOT over 800. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.94.4.28 (talk) 00:11, 5 April 2010 (UTC) I've seen a picture claiming 600 people....with a large chunk standing off the back sideline because the field was already chock full....bigger is not always better. A band that large really can't move (or really be cleanable....the feet I saw in the picture were God awful) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.112.244.3 (talk) 06:03, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Football
editOkay, I understand getting rid of the Lawson Gage article, but our football team? If it doesn't belong here then were does it belong? If its no good becuase the table is bad that's understandable, I'm terrible at making tables on Wiki. Also, I plan on expanding the athletic section soon, but the schedule is all I got to at once. I assume good faith and all, but this page will never grow if major articles keep getting deleted.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheBoy765 (talk • contribs) .
- The section was deleted because it was unencyclopedic. Please consider what about this high school is important to a global audience before writing another section. Also, please start signing your comments using ~~~~ at the end. — Scm83x hook 'em 03:03, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Man you're knowlegable. Sorry about the signing thing, I forgot. 24.1.102.232 03:47, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Academics
editXmazo, I wrote the academics section, as well as the extra-curricular section. I agree that the controversy should be included in the article, but apparently Wikipedia is not the place for it. And I am certainly not a member of the Allen High School staff. Why on earth did you delete what little substance we had left? --Life is good 23:34, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Pictures
editI have taken a picture of the Allen high school exterior entrance and was wondering where it should be placed. Is is violating any privacy and copyright laws since I took it myself? Life is good 19:58, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- The image should replace the image of the eagle logo. The eagle logo should be moved down in the infobox to "mascot image". — Scm83x hook 'em 20:05, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

enrollment
editCan someone clarify the enrollment? I updated to the NCES data https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/school_detail.asp?Search=1&DistrictID=4807890&ID=480789000117 (9-12 school with 4748 students as of 2015-16) but the school's website https://www.allenisd.org/domain/2652 says the enrollment is over 6000. The figure of 6380 was in the article but it was sourced to an athletic conference ranking http://www.uiltexas.org/files/alignments/2016_Rank_Order.pdf, which does not actually count students (unless you believe that some of the schools actually have fractional students ). Meters (talk) 03:39, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm... the Lowery Fresshman Center is listed a s a seperate school by NCES https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/school_detail.asp?Search=1&DistrictID=4807890&SchoolPageNum=2&ID=480789008146 with 1634 students in grades 9 and 10. From what I can see from the schools' websites they have different addresses and different principals, so they seem to be treated as separate schools by the school district too. Incorrect Map Location
editThe map has an incorrect location, it displays the location off the old school (pre 1999) instead of the new one.
Adress is listed correctly 47.186.92.160 (talk) 20:05, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
The visual map points to the old location.
