editThe section Legal Status, subsection United States, contains only two sentences that seem to contradict one another. If hunting is legal in these states, why must alligator meat only be obtained from farms? rowley (talk) 08:23, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Low fat = healthy??
editLow fat does not necessarily mean healthy. In fact, any successful diet is a diet high in animal fat, as it conforms to our evolutionary adaptations as apex predators. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.123.131 (talk) 16:15, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Alligator meat → Alligator as food – Per naming conventions in other similar articles. Esprit15d • talk • contribs 15:04, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. While indeed there are categories such as Category:Bats as food, Category:Fish as food, Category:Insects as food or Category:Molluscs as food, the actual article titles use the "... meat" form — Buffalo meat, Cat meat, Crab meat, Elephant meat, Goat meat, Horse meat, Iguana meat, Kangaroo meat, Monkey meat, Rat meat, Seal meat, Shark meat, Whale meat. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 22:01, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose. Such articles are split between "... meat" and "... as food" titles. There is not consistency, so claiming there is consistency is fundamentally false. Steel1943 (talk) 02:05, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
