Category for Lists of people
edit@Xezbeth: Why did you remove Category:Lists of people by given name. Why would someone looking at that category not want to see this list of people with given name "Alpha"? It's nothing but a list of people with that given name. Coastside (talk) 22:01, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
- The category serves very little purpose in the first place. "List of people" articles are currently the only things populating it, if you just add every given name article then it is exactly the same as Category:Given names and serves zero purpose. —Xezbeth (talk) 05:18, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Xezbeth: I see. Seems perhaps we should kill off both [[Category:Lists of people by given name and Category:Lists of people sharing a surname. The only time they would differ would be when a surname page or given name page did not include a list of people and instead pointed to a separate index article with the list of people. Still, seems a bit pointless. If people use the name category and navigate to the name article page, that page would link, either in a hat note or in the body of the article, to the "List of" index article page. So the category seems rather superfluous. Thanks for pointing this out. Coastside (talk) 05:28, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
