The result of the move request was: page moved. (non-admin closure) TonyBallioni (talk) 03:37, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Alternative Bank Schweiz → Alternative Bank Switzerland – The bank as a page in English on its website which uses the English name "Alternative Bank Switzerland". Renaming the article would allow to have a clear title, while the names in the three Swiss official languages stay clearly mentioned in the infobox. Serious biases in the article
editThere are a number of statements that reflect opinions rather than objective information from reliable sources. Moreover, there are numerous statements without citations. Strong statements such as: "Its aim is clearly not to maximize profit, but to promote and social or ecological businesses and projects.", would require of an extensive analysis from independent sources and cannot be introduced in the article without any reference, therefore I eliminate this and other statements and require of citations in several points.
As another example, what is meant with this phrase? "Investing their customers' money involves difficult ethical decisions for the ABS: which stocks should be bought, which titles are all right, which are not?". I don't think Wikipedia is a place to expose storytelling reflections of the bank.
The investment strategy section has a list of points supposedly related with the bank policies without any verifiable source. Just in the last line there is this statement which is not clear whether it is linked with the bank policy, the ideas/feelings of the Wikipedia author of this paragraph or the author of the referred article: "Banks should meet the needs of the people, without destroying the world.[1]". Therefore, I also remove it.
Another example "The ABS also clearly differentiate at the time of its founding by conventional Swiss banks". This statement requires an independent evaluation of ALL Swiss banks considering the variables claimed, and a demonstration that it was indeed the case. I remove it.
Given these examples, I would like to kindly remind that any potential conflicts of interests of the authors should be disclosed. Conjugado (talk) 19:34, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hm, quotation "...Given this examples, I have serious doubts about potential conflicts of interests of the authors of this article, that should be disclosed in that case..." may be interpreted as personal attacks against the authors integretacies, hence, before doing so, review the long-year contributions, as well as those of the more than 20 other Wikipedians who previously edited Alternative Bank Switzerland :-( all claimed "...Serious biases in the article..." respectively claimed missing quotations are covered by the references, hence, are obsolete, or unbioasdly checked bye our co-Wikipedians, bye Roland zh (talk) 20:26, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- Dear Roland zh, thanks for your message. Please note that Wikipedia citation policies states that inline citations are required for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. In addition, the first two sections of the article rely on a single source and, therefore, my claims about biases in the article simply reflect what the one source template aims to prevent: A single source is usually less than ideal, because a single source may be inaccurate or biased. Without other sources for corroboration, accuracy or neutrality may be suspect. Concerning the conflict of interests (COI) statement, I apologise if it was misinterpreted, I re-edit it to clarify my claim and avoid misinterpretations. Biases in an article dos not imply a COI and having a COI does not necessarily imply that a bias exists. But if a bias exists, it is important to remind the necessity of COI disclosing, which does not imply any jugdement judgement about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith (see COI page). I acknowledge the different contributions and I also acknowledge that more than 87% of the added text comes from a single contributor (yourself) so please I would acknowledge that you do not remove my edition which is fairly justified and oriented to improve the article, I undo now your last edit. Best. Conjugado (talk) 19:37, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
Undocumentent translation of WOZ article
editA significant chunk of this article is a mediocre, badly attributed translation of [a WOZ article](https://www.woz.ch/-2a13). I will raise the appropriate steps. -- 80.112.143.98 (talk) 12:05, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
