Main article still too long/Do not delete

The main article is now even longer than it had been before by re-adding this section back in. The main article will still need to be shortened after this section gets removed again (assuming this article does not get deleted). There are other articles of this nature for multiple other comic book characters that have been used multiple times in multiple alternate universes. Maybe it needs some clean-up so it's less of a list, but that can be done. If this article is deleted then the main article will be way too long. -Freak104 12:22, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Modern Continuity

Currently, there is some conflict in the interpretation of who should be listed here, which I believe lies in the interpretation of What if 4. As someone who has both read and owns the actual issue, I feel that specifically under the title of What if and it's context at that time as an early issue, it was considered "imaginary" initially. The Cap Annual 6 (6 years later) resurrected the story and brought it "into" continuity. The What if and Cap Annual 6 and the Captain era point to "Captain America" being a goverment appointed position. I also own Truth, and my understand of that source material and recent retcon's and my understanding is that Bradley's current interpretation is that his Tuskegee like project was an effort to recreate project; although he did hold the title in an alternate universe. In the same context, I am not familiar of how Falcon became Cap in Sentinals of Liberty (just that he is referenced as Cap on his character bio), and to better hatch that out would point to either his continued inclusion or the inclusion of other characters such as Clint Barton. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 14:54, 18 February 2008 (UTC).

  • The page reflects the multiple interpretations of Captain America. Rogers is the primary interpretation of the character. This is similar the Alt version of Superman, which has been pointed to as an exemplar for this type of page. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 21:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC).

What if

I remember a two part What If story from the early 90s where Captain America allegedly was not frozen after WWII, but instead ran for president. If I recall, the first issue ended with someone (one of the Avengers, maybe) discovering the frozen body of Steve Rogers somewhere and realizing that the president was actually the Red Skull. Sorry I don't have more information, it has been years since I read the story. the section for 1602 starts with "The Marvel 1602 limited series presents an alternate history, Earth-311, in which a Captain America from the 20th century is transported to the year 1602". That's incorrect. 1602 was the 616 universe (Watcher even says so near the end). Earth-311 is presumably the universe where 1602 continued on after 616 was restored to normal. Ultimate Captain America split

I believe that the Ultimate version of Captain America is notable enough to warrant his own article. The Ultimate Captain America section of this article is too long and cumbersome without subsections and an would be better served as its own article.--Marcus Brute (talk) 17:00, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Not a spoof

What If? Captain America had Fought in the Civil War? is an apparently real (if sorely misguided attempt) story from the pages of Marvel's What If…" series. Someone had deleted it as a spoof. It isn't, so I've undone the removal. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:37, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Civil Warrior

Would it be appropriate to add Civil Warrior to this page? Although technically an alternate version of Captain America, it only appears as an exclusive character in Marvel: Contest of Champions and not in the comics. --Puzzledvegetable^{Is it teatime already?} 00:00, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
