Paragraph needs attention to provide encyclopedic perspective.
editThe paragraph listing alveolar gas equations has a single sentence and a series of equations ("Several possible equations exist to calculate the alveolar air.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]"); such a list of equations without individual explication is of very limited pedagogic use. Without reference to utility/applicability, history, origin, etc. of each, they simply cannot be used. Moreover, the variables in each are undefined when they first appear. Hence, the list is completely, utterly confusing (as to the purpose of each equation, and the correspondence of the references to the equations) and of no more use than the sentence by itself. At least, the sentence provides the citations, and within the citations, the meaning and uses of the each equation are presumed clear. LeProf
