Clarify Please Most Simply What This Thing Does

edit

After reading the article, I still wonder what this thing does??? Is it a storage dongle that if you put media on it with your computer, it will then play it on a TV (which can already be done with a wire from the computer to the TV)? Is it a network interface so that if your home network is putting out media, the TV can receive it & play it too? Just simply add to the article a clear, simple description of what it does, please. The Amazon Fire Stick is a small device the size of a flash drive that plugs into a TVs HDMI port. The Fire Stick enables any TV to stream content over WiFi such as Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Pandora, HBO etc. Introduced in 2014 the Fire Stick is in competition with Google Chromecast, and Roku.

Fire Stick Dimensions

edit

The length of the Gen1 Gen2 firestick is misleading. Gen1 includes the HDMI connector, Gen2 length is only for the case. The Gen2 case length is almost identical to the Gen1 length with HDMI connector: the two length values shown here. See this YouTube video LarryLACa (talk) 19:36, 4 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

information is a mixture of the 1st gen and 2nd gen combined. they must be separated and differentiated appropriately. 2600:8807:301:9100:1F58:8A9A:2A8C:C86F (talk) 18:01, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
