The Singing Trump
editSince I don't wanna start an edit war, I'll ask here. Should we put The Singing Trump's genre as "singing" or "comedy", and why?
I personally think it should go under "singing", as his performances are more focused on that aspect.
why is kechi with the Golden buzzer by Seal already?
editI have looked for leaked videos or in the news, but nothing appears about that — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:A4C8:EB00:D11D:DC5:B2E8:97D0 (talk) 11:14, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- As far as I know it's just people trying to jump the gun claiming of a "leaked video". I haven't seen anything to back it up at this point. It's gone back and forth a couple of times but as of this point it's removed. TheDoctorWho (talk) 18:40, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
Wrong Popazov showing as buzzed during Judge Cuts 4
editThe chart shows that Simon buzzed Maxim Popazov during Judge Cuts 4, but it was really Maria Sarach Popazov who got buzzed, because she didn't do anything exciting for Simon. PlacidPenguin (talk) 01:46, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Judge Cuts Week 4, 19 or 20 acts?
editIn Judge Cuts Week 4 there were supposedly 20 acts but the episode only showed 19. Am I missing one somewhere or were there only 19 acts shown?
the new edit where they added Rodgers, and because of time 2 47 of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtTzkfRVs78 that was done in June 15th where we see Conejo dance group and "in the stairwell" singing group, is obvious Rodgers was there ( most probably taped late May ), I think instead of "withdrew because of death" should not it be "eliminated probably, can't be considered for wildcard because of death"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:A4C8:EB00:35FA:B1E1:B9CA:E284 (talk) 09:57, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Quarterfinals Week 1
editIt would make sense if someone put descriptions of each contestant's performances in the Quarterfinals Week 1 section, rather than just have the type of act they are. 71.115.153.78 (talk) 23:16, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- The type of act makes it clear enough in my personal opinion. Plus it would take up too much room. TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:08, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
- How about in the semifinals and finals instead, just like in America's Got Talent (season 11)? In that page some of the editors put descriptions for each semifinal and final acts.Thissecretperson (talk) 21:15, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Edits I Can't Fix Because the Page is Locked
edit- In the second Judge Cuts chart: "This was also the only Judge Cuts episode in the season in which an act receiver 4 red buzzers, and were eliminated immediately." Please add the period at the end of the sentence.
- In the third Judge Cuts chart, Final Draft is still listed as "Eliminated" instead of "Quarterfinal Wild Card." However, the group received a Quarterfinals Wild Card, accoding to the sneak peek in the latest AGT episode. Here's the link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcnG6CfLHSE
Thank you, Breaking Talents.
- In the second Quarterfinal chart, Evie Clair's background for the Dunkin' Save is a different shade of red, as opposed to the Quarterfinals key and the first chart.
- Typically, in the Top 36 Acts chart, acts are listed in alphabetical order. However, Bello Nock is listed under Brobots and Mandroidz.
Can someone please fix these errors? I am a anonymous user so I can't edit these mistakes because the page is locked. Also, I'm trying not to act snobby. Please don't start a war out here. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.88.180.63 (talk) 21:59, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

Original Research in the Notes
editThe notes regarding the two outside Judge Cuts performances (Demian Aditya, Bello Nock) assert that these performances were down outside because of "safety concerns". Is there a source for that? An official press release?
It seems obvious to me that Demian's act was down outside because the stage floor was not available for being dug up, nor for having tons of dirt dumped on top of it. As it is, the escape needs a secret passageway, further complicating an indoor performance.
Similarly, there really isn't room for Bello's human cannonball act inside. They would have to rip out or build over hundreds of seats. Simply not an option.
The notes further refer to "the outside studio". There was no studio. They simply found a convenient venue. (Actually, there is no "inside studio" either. The auditions are normally done on a stage.) 129.68.81.144 (talk) 16:30, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
Final Draft's Location
editIn the Top 36 Acts, chart, their location is unlisted. I just looked online on YouTube and found out where they live (Atlanta, Georgia). Here is the video title: "America's Got Talent 2017 Final Draft Just the Intro and Judges' Comments S12E05". Evie Clair or Evie Clair Abplanalp?
editBoth Kechi Okwuchi and Darci Lynne Farmer are referred to in the show without surnames, but have their surnames listed here. Should the same be true of Evie Clair? JorWat (talk) 12:05, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think so. Evie Clair appears to be her actual stage name. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:57, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Darci Lynn
editSo, since we're going straight off season 11, I would assume it's sae to say that Darci is the third female winner, the third child act winner, however my brain is too tired to determine this - was she younger than grace was when she won. I assume so since she's younger than Grace by almost 10 months but my brain it just too tired to do the math.--QueerFilmNerd (talk) 03:37, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, third female and child, as well as third ventriloquist. I made the change. She is older than Grace was when Grace won 12 months ago. Also older than Bianca Ryan. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:15, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
Misleading Ordinals
editKen1555, thank you for deleting the misleading ordinals from various rounds (for example Advanced "2nd", 3rd, etc.). Which order someone was announced as advancing or being eliminated is "in no particular order", and the numbering is misleading and just plain wrong. -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:20, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- During the broadcast, Tyra Banks specifically said that the names were read "in no particular order". It is not correct to assign ordinal rankings to the contestants except for the top five finalists after the final results were announced. Somambulant1 (talk) 23:04, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
Prize
editWe don't mention the $1 million dollar prize or the las vegas gig. What's a good ref to use that confirms that Darci won those? -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:18, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Now added. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:34, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
The Golden Buzzer Sub-section
editI wonder if it would make sense if all Judge Cuts golden buzzers should be listed in the Judge Cuts section, instead of the Golden Buzzer Sub-section. After all, it was listed under the Preliminary Auditions section. But the Judge Cuts golden buzzers didn't happen in the Preliminary Auditions?...
Plus, this seaspon 4 golden buzzer acts made it to the Top 5, while in season 9 there were only 2 known buzzers that didn't make it through Judgement Week, and in seasons 10 and 11 three buzzer acts made it to the Top 5. Would it be useful to say, "This season has the most Golden Buzzer acts that made it to the Top 5?"Thissecretperson (talk) 14:26, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- I think it makes the most sense to keep all the golden buzzer information together the way we have it. I do not think it is of encyclopedic importance to mention that the season had "the most" GBs in the top five, unless the published sources found it significant. The main problem with this article (and most reality show articles) is that many facts are unreferenced. Since the show received plenty of press coverage and weekly reviews, all of this information should be referenced, and the article's quality suffers greatly from the lack of referencing. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:28, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks a lot. Thissecretperson (talk) 22:32, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
Finale
editShould we include the performances of the finale in the Finals chart, just like in America's Got Talent (season 11)? Thissecretperson (talk) 14:04, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't follow you. What are we missing that is included in the Season 11 article? -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:14, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- In the previous season’s Wikipedia article they mention the acts’ finale performances and who performed with which guest performer in the Finals chart. Also, the chart mentions any acts that performed in the finale together. Thissecretperson (talk) 17:45, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sure, as long as it's clear what was performed in the final competition and what was performed in the finale reveal. Is this clear in Season 11, or should we clarify there? -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:56, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- It's already clear there in my honest opinion, so if/when I have time I'll add the information to this season's Finals chart. I'll also try to keep the same format for both articles, too (and maybe Season 10's article as well since they had the Judge Cuts, Finale performance s, etc.) Thissecretperson (talk) 15:34, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, as I look at it more closely, I think the chart in Season 11 is totally messed up. The performances with the guest stars in the Finale (results) show seem to be lumped in with the performances in the final competition. They should be clearly separated, probably in their own chart (or just in a paragraph) in the "Finale" section, rather than smushed together confusingly with the final competition performances. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:40, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Good point. Thissecretperson (talk) 20:57, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- If you can, when you have time, it would be great if you could fix the season 11 info. If you do, I'd be happy to review it and make any suggestions before you go ahead to add the same info for seasons 10 and 12. Just let me know. Happy editing! -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:13, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Chart is done in the Finale section in this article. If anyone wishes to object, please do so in this section. This change will also be done in other AGT articles if deemed necessary. Also done in season 11's article. Thissecretperson (talk) 21:15, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- Looks good. I made some copy edits. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:05, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- Please let me know if you get around to doing Season 10, and I'll proofread it for you. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:22, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
- Should mention be made of Darci Lynne Farmer's pre-recorded discussion with Jeff Dunham? JorWat (talk) 11:12, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- To Ssilvers: I will, as soon as I have time to search up every performance (Season 10's Finals chart only lists the guest Performers). Unfortunately the closest searches I can find online are videos related the seasons 10 and 11, so I'll try harder.
- To JorWat: Well none of the other acts have a description of their own pre-recorded discussions...but we'll have to wait for Ssilvers's answer, I also don't know if we should include what you just said. Thissecretperson (talk) 13:31, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Other acts do have descriptions of their own pre-recorded discussions. Preacher Lawson's, for example. Her chat with Jeff Dunham was shown right before her performance with Terry Fator. JorWat (talk) 15:10, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- I see your point now. Should we either put this in the chart or put the interviews in a separate paragraph? Thissecretperson (talk) 15:29, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- No, I don't think that we should add that detail, unless you have a WP:RS to cite about it. If I understand the Preacher Lawson example (you mean his performance at the Laugh Factory?), the only reason that we include it is because Lawson did not do any other kind of performance at the finale. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:14, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- I don't really know what counts as a reliable source... Does this recording count? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG_OblypVe8 JorWat (talk) 10:17, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- YouTube isn't really counted as a reliable source, but at this point I've found interviews and performances there via YouTube. Speaking of which, I found several of Season 10's Finale performances via Wayback Machine. Season 10's Finale chart should be done ASAP unless something else conflicts with me adding the chart. Thissecretperson (talk) 15:22, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- If that YouTube video isn't reliable, is NBC's website? https://www.nbc.com/americas-got-talent/video/jeff-dunham-meets-darci-lynne-finale/3588539 I'm under the impression that we're just looking for a reliable source to show that it happened, but are we actually trying to find a source that proves it was notable enough to include in the chart? JorWat (talk) 16:09, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it's OK, although NBC is the "primary source", and it would certainly be better if we could find a WP:RS third party like Entertainment Weekly, reporting on it. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:53, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
OK, here's the link for the Wayback Machine archive if anyone wants to pitch in with creating the desciptions: https://web.archive.org/web/20151106215851/https://www.youtube.com/user/AmericasGotTalent/videos Thissecretperson (talk) 19:37, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- I changed the tense to past tense and added a ref. If you review the ref, I think it may help you to clarify some details in the descriptions. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:53, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
- I could’ve never found that source myself, but it did help a whole lot. Just one question. The source you added to Season 10 said Klum’s card was stuck on Piff’s sword during his Finale act, but the article said it was Mel B’s card that was stuck. Unfortunately neither the source nor the archive would show me the videos of every performance (I’m using a smaller device because it’s charging) so which card was it that was actually stuck to the sword? Other than that, thank you for your cooperation. Thissecretperson (talk) 00:13, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- I don't know, and I'll let you wrestle with that detail. Let me say, though, that the separate tables in seasons 10, 11 and 12 for the Finale shows are a huge improvement to what we had before, which tried to smash together performances from two different shows in each case. Well done! -- Ssilvers (talk) 00:29, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- Plus, I'm making a start on the 2 months I've been here. Thank you all!! Thissecretperson (talk) 15:40, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

Semifinals Week 2
editI remember watching the results of this particular part of the show and seeing a few guests that contain a millionaire (or billionaire?), but I don't know who he is. Apparently, so does everyone else. I've been trying to find a source confirming the name of the guests, but with no luck. If someone finds out the names of the person, could they add it to the article? Thanks. Thissecretperson (talk) 00:43, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
- If you add anything, make sure you have a WP:RS to cite. We have enough uncited assertions in this article. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:48, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
4th and 5th places
editAn editor added this assertion: "During the finale results, the top 5 acts were revealed first; then they were eliminated in reverse ranking from fifth place to third place." Do you have a WP:RS that verifies this information? My recollection is that 4th and 5th place were eliminated "in no particular order". Please see WP:V. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:14, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Don't think this is a WP:RS, but this recording of the show shows that Tyra said "The act finishing in 5th place": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBMKd2uX0z0&t=25 JorWat (talk) 12:39, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

Fourth place was deaf singer Mandy Harvey." JorWat (talk) 12:46, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Not a great source, but if you feel confident that there was an official distinction between 4th and 5th, feel free to make the change, and I won't resist it. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:10, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

If stuff looks a bit wonky on this page (like a missing chart, color, grammar mistakes, etc)...
editIf anything looks a bit odd on this page (if it’s missing stuff or if the charts look weird) then it’s probably my fault and my phone getting wonky with editing. My phone does some weird stuff by showing me wrong previews of what Wikipedia pages actually look like, so I think there could be a few mistake section on the page.
Please fix the errors on this page if you see some. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thissecretperson (talk) 18:29, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
