Fair use rationale for Image:Jeremiah Evarts Book Cover John A Andrew III.jpg

edit

Image:Jeremiah Evarts Book Cover John A Andrew III.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 18:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removed from article, I can't see why we want to use it here. GRBerry 18:43, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I added the fair use rationale to the image page. It makes a lot of sense to use this image here - we should add it back. Jeremeiah Evarts was a central figure in the early history of the ABCFM. It definitely adds meaning to the article. Also, the fair use rationale is perfectly fine. Thanks, Brholden (talk) 21:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Upcoming Boston Conference on ABCFM History/Anniversary, Info for this article may be developed, suggestions sought

edit

Just FYI: There will be a celebration of the ABCFM's history on September 25 in Boston, sponsored by the Congregational Library, the Boston Theological Institute, Bentley College, and the ABCFM. Papers, a trolley tour of relevant Boston sites, a display on missions at the Congreagational Library and a dinner with invited speaker at Park St. Church are included. For information, see the Congregational Library website. I'm not sure if this should be written up for this site per se, but information to be presented at the conference should be of interest and might contribute to this site; suggestions and direction appreciated. Is www.14beacon.org the site you are talking about? Yes, we probably should mention in this article. And I noticed that that page links to this article, so need to be careful of course of circular reference. I could not get some of the links to work on their web site (e.g. liberty3.net) so that is not a good sign. Anyone have a contact? W Nowicki (talk) 04:15, 4 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Declining influence?

edit

It is apparent that this group is no longer as influential as it was; it seems to have been merged into some sort of successor body, but there are no specifics. It is as if it just existed in the nineteenth century and then just stopped. 75.216.244.65 (talk) 12:14, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

In this series of edits, Phil Corr added text (still present in the article) with the notice "The following is drawn from the conclusion to Donald Philip Corr's dissertation (see Select General Bibliography below] and is used with permission." If "drawn from" means including the text in this article verbatim, a permission is needed. The problem here is that we have no evidence of permission ((Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials)). Similarity in username and source obviously does not count as permission. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 14:18, 24 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I removed the template because:
The “sections drawn from the conclusion to Corr’s dissertation” Here have been removed 1 February 2007 Here by Brian0324
Earwig’s Copyvio Detector Here found the possible violation at Antique Maps Inc Here, which is clearly taken from the Wikipedia article, not vice versa.
Hope I understood the problem(s).ch (talk) 20:29, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

My concern was these African American were not mentioned as African Missionaries in Mozambique. They served nine years. 2600:1700:A000:84F0:27AF:68EB:59AB:F1E (talk) 22:48, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

The end of ABCFM

The article would be better if there was more about the end of ABCFM. Pete unseth (talk) 16:26, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
