editThis article is creating confusion on American City University from California and ACU from Wyoming. There is no evidence proving these two are related, but the editors mix these two together into the same article. It will mislead the readers to believe they are same university simply moving from Wyoming to California. I suggest the editors to set these two universities into two different articles instead of messing them together. It's quite confusing that when you read about ACU from California in the introduction, then found that the history is about ACU from Wyoming. Besides, what's the relations between ACU with Honolulu University and American Central University? The latter two are related to International Management Association only. It's rare in other articles to mention the affiliates when you are describing the university or college. Is there really no other solid information related to ACU? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Consci360 (talk • contribs) 04:11, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- The relationships between various diploma mills, especially those operating internationally, are often tricky to trace. I think this article does an outstanding job. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:46, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Yes, there is no evidence proving the ACU in California and ACU in Wyoming are the same institution. There are cases that different individual institutions can be run under the same name. For example, there are four institutions named "Linclon University" in the US, but they are totally different schools.
Information on wikipedia is supposed to be objective and provable. So there should be proof before the two ACUs are put under the same article, otherwise it would not be fair for the readers and the universities that are described here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnswayne1980 (talk • contribs) 18:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
I think the editor has done quite a poor job here. The article has clearly fallen into two major flaws:
1. As said by Consci360, this article is supposed to be on American City University. There is nothing to do with International Management Association. Who is lining up with International Management Association is totally irrelevant here. With whom International Management Association is partnering with should be under the search for International Manaagement Association, not under American City University.
2. I can see where both Consci360 and Johnswayne were coming from. The editor mentioned about ACU is Los Angeles, ACU in Fresno, and ACU in Cheyenne. The editor could prove the two ACUs in California were the same institution; however, the editor failed to do so for ACU in California and ACU in Wyoming. Having failed to do this, the editor automatically went on to the second paragraph to describe the history of ACU in Wyoming, assuming ACU Wyoming and ACU California were the same institution. If the two schools are the same, then good job to the editor. BUT, there's no evidence proving this. If these two are really different schools, then this piece of article becomes very confusing, and has violated the spirit of Wikipedia, which being neutral, objective and provable.
The feedback from Orangemike was irresponsible. First, this is about the search for ACU, not diploma mill. Diploma mill should be under "Diploma Mill". Second, difficult to trace does not mean evidence can be exempted; does not mean unproven information could be put together.
If the editor here cannot prove ACU California and ACU Wyoming are the same institution, to avoid confusion, subjectivity and irresponsibility, the content of the "History" should be placed under "ACU Wyoming", and ACU California should have a different page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jotale (talk • contribs) 07:54, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Both ACU entities have been affiliated with "International Management Association. That affiliation is highly relevant here. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:32, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- The affiliation of both ACUs in California with International Management Association is relevant, but which other partners are affiliating with International Management Association is not relevant here. This page is describing ACU, not International Management Association. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jotale (talk • contribs) 13:22, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Impartial?
editThis article reads like an advertisement, especially considering it's a page about a rumor mill. I'm going to clear some irrelevant information, like which fake doctorate holders they previously hired for their administration, as well as their degree listings. Accredited schools don't even get that thorough of a degree offering on their Wiki pages. 99.38.97.77 (talk) 12:31, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
