Talk:American Civil War/Featured article push/archive 1
Howdy hello folks! This article was once a military history A class article and GA, but was delisted due to length and sourcing concerns. As one of the most important events in American history and the 98th most viewed page of all time on Wikipedia, bringing it to higher quality is one of the most impactful actions on the project. Taking it to a Good Article, then A-Class and eventually Featured status, would be an amazing achievement. Its also one that can't happen alone. I'm looking to build a team of editors who are willing to help push this article through to featured status. Such an undertaking will be a vast, and possibly multi-year event, but it won't happen if editors don't make it happen. If you'd like to join, please sign your name below and say what tasks you'll be taking on. Smooth sailing, Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 23:20, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

editTasks
editYou are welcome to add tasks
- Summary style: The article is well over the recommended readable prose size of 100kb. To cut this down, effective use of Wikipedia:Summary style will be needed. Some sections may need reducing or combining.
- Additional sourcing: Unsourced claims need to be dealt with, and poor citations need replacing.
- Citation work: The citation style needs to be standardized, and all citations should be properly formatted
- Source reviewing: Existing sources need to be double checked to ensure that sources reflect the claims they are cited to.
- Photo review: All photos need checking for status, quality, and applicability. New photos may need to be found, and poor ones removed or replaced.
- Copyediting: With a goal to take this to FA, all prose should be of professional quality
- Neutrality: As a contentious subject, POV issues will need to be dealt with. If you identify a POV issue, please open a new section and discuss it.
