Looking for input

I stumbled across this article and I think it is in need of a lot of work. The topic could almost justify turning the article into a simple list or even a category. I'm not sure how to proceed in turning it into an encyclopedia article without making it a story. Thoughts? -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 02:24, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think a simple list would be cutting too much. The detailed history, if referenced properly, is valuable in itself...I do agree the article needs work - Note the third para under the "Confederate" topic: "During the early days of the Campaign, 24 alleged scouts and spies were arrested or detained in Texas, including a man caught sounding the depth of the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg..." This makes no sense. The Susquehanna River is not in Texas !! Engr105th 04:58, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm working on information related to Hattie Lawton, who was a Pinkerton agent during the Civil War. I will add some online references for the entire article and clean-up the other entries. I'm new to Wikipedia, but I look forward to helping out with this article.S. Frantz 19:43, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Changing Article

edit

I think this article could use a significant change in the way it is presented. I've added some general information about intelligence during the war with additional sources, but there are already articles on many of the spies listed in the article. It seems these names could be listed and linked to the individual bios for each spy. Any suggestions or comments??S. Frantz 13:40, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Confederates were crude, selfish people and I am utterly embarassed by those who have their flags attached to their cars or display them in their homes. That is cruel and horrible of you to do such things. You don't even realize.

Edward Bancroft was not a spy for the union, but a spy for the Revolutionary War. Please check your facts, it will save others from misleading information as it has led me. Thank you.

Please someone make a page for poor Pryce here. He is lacking where others florish. Thank you.
