Holdings Incomplete and Outdated

In the Holdings, it goes to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIG#Holdings. This page is outdated and incomplete. Anyone interested to update that page? I'll post on that Talk page too. How about this? Delete the link to that page until that page is updated so people aren't confused. Can anyone here help with deleting that link? Thanks, in advance. Or feel free to post on my Talk page if you have other suggestions.Hiland109 (talk) 17:30, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

With the holidays coming around the corner, I won't be too active here. Anyone got free time to help? Also, Chartis is no longer a subsidiary of AIG. How about we merge content then redirect Chartis' Wikipedia article to the AIG Wikipedia page? Thoughts on this? Thank you.Hiland109 (talk) 18:06, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

I am looking for assistance with this segment. Anyone interested in helping out?Hiland109 (talk) 21:43, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Suggestions for improving the article

Content in this article needs improvement. It needs balance. Some suggestions are to update the lede paragraph, organize the flow of the Chronology of the 2008 Financial Crisis, and add some history and other events. I am open to working with others to accomplish this. Feel free to post on my Talk page or reply here. Hiland109 (talk) 18:10, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Manchester United Sponsorship seems out of place. Suggestion is to relocate it to its own section. MsGingerHoneycutt (talk) 19:20, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Re-organize the 2008 Financial Crisis content, keeping the original content. Just making the chronology easier to read. Hiland109 (talk) 17:08, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Added breaks between the chronological paragraphs as well as grammatical and punctuation clean up. MsGingerHoneycutt (talk) 03:28, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Minor change to Financial Crisis. Created Turnaround and Repayment section, so readers know the difference between the two events.Hiland109 (talk) 17:00, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

The Primary Sources banner is unwarranted here. There are secondary and tertiary sources. Sourcing US Federal Government documents is both factual and accurate to this chronology. Anyone here can help to remove the banner?Hiland109 (talk) 13:50, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Had some time to update some outdated stuff in the Business Section. Please review. Cited sources. Thanks.Hiland109 (talk) 17:20, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

It looks like the photograph on the article needs updated. It states the photo is of the American International Building in New York but according to the following article, the headquarters moved to 175 Water Street: http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20130802/REAL_ESTATE/130809972. Thinking there is some good information might be useful on the AIG social media page. http://www.aig.com/social-media_3171_442101.html. Any thoughts on posting it in the External Links on the article? Feedback is helpful. I just want to make sure that the proposed link is compliant with policy.Hiland109 (talk) 21:15, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Not just a subprime mortgage crisis

The title of this section is misleading. AIG's concerns stem from bad investments and increased collateral demands from Credit Default Swap holders in addition to the bad mortgage backed securities situation. Unlike most other insurance companies, AIG went into the market for credit default swaps, which are contracts that act like insurance by protecting investors against default in a range of assets, including subprime mortgages and corporate bonds. Swap buyers make regular payments to sellers like AIG, who in turn have to make payouts if a default or bankruptcy occurs. As the risk of default on the assets has increased, AIG has had to write-down the value of the protection it sold and post collateral to its counterparties. Further, the need for Fed bailout money stems from the need to hold this collateral cash and the inability to find private loans because of key credit rating reductions. Can someone help me word this right to include the information in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnGaltJr (talkcontribs) 03:11, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

@JohnGaltJr: How do you feel about the current status of subsection titles? Nxavar (talk) 10:51, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
