Introduction of Editors
editI study at the American International School-Riyadh or AIS-R and it is a good school for learning although expensive. What do you expect? It's a private school.
Salman Al-Sudairy
Salman, Thank you for introducing yourself. Tmorningstar and Cschellenberger are current members of the AIS-R community and have specific decision making roles at the school.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cschellenberger (talk • contribs)
Yes i think what Salman said there is true. Ais-r is an amazing school. Well educated, quite strict and expensive. It is an expensive school, but its worth it. It it very well-educated. yes, i forgot to mention..." It's Private "

Copyvio
editMost of the article was a copy&paste job from the school's website, with only minor modifications (and some vandalism). I removed it for copyright reasons. Feel free to rewrite it in your own words. --Huon 20:16, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

As such, all materials found on aisr.org are considered the intellectual property of Tmorningstar, Cschellenberger and Bwiedeman. As the original authors of this content, it should not be considered copyright infringement to from the Wikipedia community to find content copied and pasted from these sources. AIS-R does it's best to curate content on this platform..— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cschellenberger (talk • contribs)
- @Cschellenberger: It is considered copyright infringement unless you have properly donated the materials to Wikipedia; please read WP:DCP for information on how to donate them, and on what doing so actually means. I would also encourage you to review the information on conflict of interest and paid editing that I have posted to your user talk page. Further, people associated with this school have no more right to control what appears here than anyone else, see WP:OWN. Your input is welcome, but you should avoid editing the article directly, instead suggesting changes on this page. This article needs more citations than just the school's website. 331dot (talk) 10:04, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
- @331dot: Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and provide some context. I am new to the Wikipedia community and I am trying to learn the platform as quickly as possible. My two greatest struggles at this point are students on campus hiding behind our IP address and making inflammatory or vandalism edits to the page. Second, is that the Googlebot is cataloguing these edits and presenting the information as related to the organization within Google search results.:— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cschellenberger (talk • contribs)
- @Cschellenberger: I would also stress that any employee or representative of the school who is editing Wikipedia as part of their job is required by Wikipedia's Terms of Use to review and comply with the paid editing policy. They should also review the conflict of interest policy. As I stated previously generally, except for blatant vandalism, COI editors should avoid directly editing articles related to their COI. Any substantive change to the article by someone associated with the school should first be discussed on this page. If you are an employee of the school I would suggest reading those policies as soon as possible; failure to comply with the paid editing policy if one has a paid relationship can result in being blocked from editing until there is compliance.
- Your efforts to remove vandalism, be it from students or anyone, are appreciated. One change that is needed are more independent reliable sources with in depth coverage to support the content of this page, as primary sources are not usually enough on their own to support an article. 331dot (talk) 10:02, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Cschellenberger: I would suggest that you be careful in making statements that use "we" as it suggests that your username is used by more than one person, which is not permitted. I understand that you probably mean "we" as in employees of the school but it might not seem that way to others, at least immediately. I also appreciate your clearer statement that you are an employee; you may wish to make such a statement on your user page as well so it is absolutely clear you are complying with WP:PAID and WP:COI. Thank you 331dot (talk) 11:31, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
I have removed the Conflict of Interest statement from the article page. I am well aware of the COI issues that may have been present but the content on the article page is no longer maintained or edited by employees of AIS-R. I am responsible for ensuring that employees of the organization will only propose changes here on the talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cschellenberger (talk • contribs) 15:33, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Cschellenberger: I'm not going to restore it(though I can't guarantee no one else will), however the person with the COI should not be determining when the COI issues in the article are resolved. That sort of defeats the purpose of marking the page as having COI issues. 331dot (talk) 15:43, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
This is Cschellenberger, the Assistant Director of Technology at AIS-R. To avoid COI claims on the main page I would like to offer the following secondary resources to enrich the information available to the wikipedia community. http://www.ibo.org/en/school/001218 https://www.searchassociates.com/schools/saudi-arabia/american-international-school-riyadh/ https://www.international-schools-database.com/in/riyadh/the-american-international-school-riyadh https://www.state.gov/m/a/os/219814.htm are all secondary resources that are presented by third parties. I hope that this can help to support the move toward more research and removing the conditional issues with the page.
Also, it may be beneficial regarding the advertising language, if the language in question could be identified somewhere within this talk page to facilitate any research or rewording that may be necessary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cschellenberger (talk • contribs) 11:39, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
The Entry Needs to be Expanded
editThe American International School Riyadh (AIS-R) Wikipedia entry can be furthermore improved with information that a former student (myself) can confirm. As it stands, the entry is very short and the language is dubious. Some of the information is directly copy pasted from the school's website.
The school has a very interesting history, and it is a shame the article only includes its obvious background information. I plan to add some more information. There aren't many sources to use, but I intend on using official sources. Using sources such as the school's official website, more information can be incorporated. The school's mission statement, for example, is very important for any documentation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Banabissat (talk • contribs) 02:01, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
I would like to suggest that the entry for "previously called APS" should have the name of the school instead of the acronym. APS stood for the American Preparatory School of Riyadh. cschellenberger talk —Preceding undated comment added 09:19, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Done. Are you aware of what the other abbreviations mean? 331dot (talk) 18:17, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Reasons why AIS-R is the best?
editSome people dont go to ais-r because its expensive- which is one of the reasons many people i know dont attend it.
But, what i have to say is- AIS-R is one of the best schools in all Saudi Arabia. The most rich one of all and the best educated.
Here i will start this page..and whoever reads this page, tell me reasons why ais-r is the best school
reasons why ais-r is the best - Well-educated - Rich with money
AIS-R is a great school because it provides a superior education with its focus on enhancing the skills, attitudes and understandings of the Global Citizen. It is a great school because it is made up of fantastic students from 55 different countries, has a 100% college acceptance rate, IB and SAT scores well above the world average and a faculty and staff that is highly educated, hard working, and well traveled. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tmorningstar (talk • contribs) 09:54, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

Mission Driven School
editAIS-R is a mission driven school and because so much of the culture and practice of the organization is based on this statement. I feel that it should be represented:
As a school committed to excellence, we will educate and inspire our students to be responsible, productive and ethical global citizens with the skills and passion to think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn continuously. We will accomplish this in an American educational environment characterized by high measurable standards and a clearly defined, appropriately interrelated college preparatory curriculum, implemented by a superior staff in partnership with students, parents and the community. http://www.aisr.org/page.cfm?p=503 cschellenberger —Preceding undated comment added 11:45, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Mission statements are almost never included in articles, as Wikipedia has no interest whatsoever in how any organization wishes to describe itself. Such statements are hard to independently verify (which is what Wikipedia is interested in) as they can be changed at any time. 331dot (talk) 13:41, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
