Contested deletion
editThis page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because it is primarily a list of publications. Philafrenzy (talk) 22:57, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Philafrenzy: Even lists' information needs to be presented in an original manner, which yours certainly isn't when triggering a 98% match rate. –Compassionate727 (T·C) 23:04, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- I am in the process of doing that but there is bound to be a high match rate in such a list of volumes. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:06, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- Try starting with something besides the list of volumes. I'm not sure the article even needs that anyway. –Compassionate727 (T·C) 23:15, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- The list of volumes provides the outgoing links for the scholars and is the major thing they have done. I could move it to a pure list article I suppose. I don't believe there is any copyright protection in a simple chronological list of volumes anyway. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:29, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

- I'm not entirely sure. Some lists are copyright protected, some aren't. Here, pinging to Diannaa, maybe she'll have an answer. –Compassionate727 (T·C) 23:32, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- I would say no, this particular list is not subject to copyright. — Diannaa (talk) 23:35, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Diannaa: What's the rough criteria that is used to decide? I can't remember at the moment. –Compassionate727 (T·C) 23:37, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- Lists that make value judgements about the material are subject to copyright. For example, Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Our article does not reproduce any part of the list but instead offers some analysis of its contents. — Diannaa (talk) 23:42, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- Is there a way to break up the list by decade and still preserve the automatic volume numbering using the hash function? Philafrenzy (talk) 23:54, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
