The result of the move request was: Not moved. Our article on the worldwide game is called Mahjong, and it's unclear why we would spell the game differently when referring to the American variant. The proposed all-caps style suggests a proper name, which this is not. Whether there is a space between mah and jong, and whether there are one or two g letters, varies widely on the web, and certainly it would be unwise to spell mahjong differently in different articles. WP:NCCAPS would normally cause 'American xxx' to have 'xxx' in lower case. If you think mahjong should be given a new spelling all across Wikipedia, submit a new proposal. American mahjong → American Mah Jongg – This variant, which got its own article, is Americanized. Therefore the romanization should not be the same as the one most commonly used in modern Asia. See the websites: National (American) Mah Jongg League, National (American) Mah Jongg League Internet Game, Mah Jongg Madness etc. --Relisted. - Comment I've heard it called Jewish mahjong [1] as much as I've heard it called American -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 05:14, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- Essentially support, but move to American mah jongg per WP:NCCAPS. --BDD (talk) 15:25, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
