editShould the page just be named after the individual or the incident? Think the "Amir Hekmati affair" might be more appropriate but ready to hear others opinions. Plot Spoiler (talk) 05:33, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- It may be me being biased, since I created the article, but I think it should center around the actual person, rather than his surroundings, because he is more notable at this point than whatever repercussions we may see. If this escalates into something greater, then I will be all for changing it to center around the event, or, in fact, creating a separate article that links to this one. So, I'd say to sit tight and wait for repercussions before pursuing changing the context. DarthBotto talk•cont 07:23, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

IRIB this afternoon: Hekmati executed
editAccording to IRIB received here in Tehran this afternoon, Amir Hekmati was executed this morning. Can this be verified? --106.187.97.225 (talk) 15:12, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- They repeated the news item in their Swahili broadcast yesterday. Seems to hold. Should this Wiki entry be updated?--185.94.31.80 (talk) 09:17, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
According to this article Amir Hekmati may have been executed, or murdered from my perspective, on May 31, 2015. There probably has not been enough sources to substantiate this yet.[1]Easeltine (talk) 15:28, 1 June 2015 (UTC) The good news is that on Facebook, Free Amir Hekmati, dated June 1, 2015, 3 hours ago from 8:30 PST "In a phone call this morning to our mother, Amir asks us to thank each of you for all of your efforts on his behalf and for the support that you have given him and our entire family." Amir, still may be alive. [2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Easeltine (talk • contribs) 15:36, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm thankful the Administration and Iran worked this out.Easeltine (talk) 14:06, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
Photo in uniform
editIt would be nice to use a photo that does not show him in uniform. He was a civilian when arrested, and he is primarily notable for being a civilian prisoner in Iran, not for being a soldier. At the time of his arrest (August 2011), he had not been in active military service for six years (since his discharge in August 2005). He was not notable while he was a soldier. —BarrelProof (talk) 03:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
