Lloyd's open Form
editWhat exactly is the Lloyd's Open Form thing about? This article doesn't really explain it, and neither does the LOF article, which doesn't seem relevant to this situation.

Lloyds Open Form is a standard contract for salvage operations at sea. The terms and conditions are relatively unfavourable for the owners and cargo interests. The problem is that this means that owners prefer to put off signing such an agreement until there is absolutely no other alternative, by which time the situation will have deteriorated even further. Nowadays a large French-operated tug is on constant stand-by in the waters around Ouessant (Ushant). Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 20:15, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
