IHEU's stance on capitalizing Humanism

edit
Removed dispute tag, as confimration received from IHEU that capitalization is recommended by IHEU, and normal use by IHEU. As the Amsterdam Declaration is their document, capitalization is appropirate for the Amsterdam Declaration wikipedia article. The fact that capitalization is not compulsory was already noted in this article, and there is no further dispute. --Couttsie 01:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
"This declaration makes exclusive use of capitalized Humanist and Humanism, which is consistent with IHEU's general practice and recommendations for promoting a unified Humanist identity. [1] To further promote Humanist identity, these words are also free of any adjectives, as recommended by prominent members of IHEU. [2] Such usage is not universal among IHEU member organizations, though most of them do observe these conventions."

I like this. Thanks, I hope this means that we are moving forward now. --Couttsie 02:01, 3 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

If no one minds, I would like to include the full text of the declaration. It is not that long and it is more helpful than the simple summary currently listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevfan (talkcontribs) 18:37, 2 July 2012 (UTC) Note the IHEU website is currently compromised. The link in this article is OK but currently points to an "access denied" page. I have send a message to the IHEU about this. It is the second time in recent months that the page has not loaded properly. The text I have added has been verified from several other sites that have republished the declaration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevfan (talkcontribs) 18:53, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
