editThis article contains many errors and approximations.
- VA does not simulate the circuitry, but the global sound generation (some synths are supposed to emulate circuitry: Roland ACB?).
- VA is not more reliable but more stable and predictable (which is not always better).
- VA synths are also constrained by the electronic circuitry. Some VA synths contain one chip per voice (Alesis Ion/Micron).
- Many analog synths provide patch storage and MIDI capabilities.
