re "Clarify" : DDG a.k.a. Manuel Gaona Sousa's document "A Clarification and a Declaration of the Cuban Libertarians"

edit

DDG a.k.a. Manuel Gaona Sousa's document "A Clarification and a Declaration of the Cuban Libertarians" seems to be a pretty important document in dampening international support for Cuban anarchists during the early Castro epoch. But if the document were widely distributed to international anarchists, isn't it puzzling that there's very little sign of it on the web (through google anyway)? The Frank Fernandez reference heavily used in the article talks about it.

Page 139 of Fernandez (pdf) says that the international damage was mostly in Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina, which suggests one obvious reason: the document was primarily circulated in spanish, not english (which is not really surprising!). So we would need to know the exact spanish title in order to search for it. Hmmm it seems like the title is Una aclaración y una declaración de los libertarios cubanos, printed 24 November 1961. Google with hl=es (for spanish) doesn't find terribly much on this either :(.

i could imagine that not many people study cuban anarchist history, and the actual people who received the document in Mexico/Venezuela/Argentina in the early 1960's are now 70 or 80 years old and none of them thought that it would be useful to scan the document and put it into an online archive.

Someone stuck a "clarify" template about this, and i agree. This sort of thing should come from more than one source, and if it's a document, then it would be best if that document is itself consultable online in some form, e.g. wikisource. Boud (talk) 15:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
