Odd

Before this all Prikhodko was relatively unknown in Ukraine?

Sorry, can't say. I just heard about her this week. Sounds entirely possible that in Kiev she was just another graduate majoring in folk vocal while she made fame only in Russia. Controversy

The section Controversy tells us that:

• 1.Nazar Prikhodko wore an arm band with what appeared to be a Swastika.
• 2.Nazar Prikhodko subsequently denied it being a swastika, and said it was a patriotic symbol.
• 3.Nazar Prikhodko has threatened legal action against the tabloid that made the accusations
• 4.Nazar Prikhodko was accused of taking part in a march of the UNA-UNSO.
• 5.Nazar Prikhodko himself refuted this.
• 6.Nazar Prikhodko himself said "I never was and will not be the UNA-UNSO member because I do not share their political views."
• 7.Nazar Prikhodko is engaged in politics in Ukraine
• 8.Nazar Prikhodko in December 2008 created an organization called "First Ukrainian Youth Assembly"
• 10.Nazar Prikhodko says this group is not affiliated to any political force

Why exactly is all of this in the article? I thought the article was about, you know, Anastasiya Prikhodko... Ostap 02:01, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

As an outsider (not from a Slavic country) I'm not going to take a very strong stand on this matter. I don't have a very good perception of the general context of different kinds of views in the Slavic countries called "nationalism" by the tabloids, and how much of a problem it is. However, evidence on Prikhodko's views should belong to this article. Providing, she openly shares her views with her brother, evidence on Nazar's views may serve as material on Prikhodko's views (as there is little reliable material available on herself on that matter). I don't have a good solution right away, how to present evidence on Nazar in the way it would actually concentrate on Prikhodko's views. I must admit I overdid it a bit (I was the one who put the Nazar Prikhodko in the aricle). I'm not sure how much controversy there was about Mr. Nazar and if the views are shared by the whole famaly... Mabey in the "Early life" section a remark like "Prikhodko's brother Nazar is engaged in Ukrainian politics, in December 2008 created an organization called "First Ukrainian Youth Assembly", during Star Factory controversy earesed when on the internet photo's started to curcilate in wich he seems to were a an arm band with what appeared to be a Swastika. The rest of the old Nazar info could go to the footnotes section. Mabey also a line like "it is curently unknown what Anastasiya's view are on her brothers activatis". No journalist asked her about the "Swastika photo"? Or what she thinks about her brothers political "career"? Blimey... I would... — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 11:49, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Your proposal could still do with a focus on Anastasiya's views. No matter what his brother does, we shouldn't add it until it's proven that she has got something to do about it. It's stupid to have a statement in an encyclopedia beginning with: "It's unknown..." An encyclopedia is about facts and "unknown" is, well, a kind of an opposite to facts. A fortiori, following a section describing Nazar's involvement in nationalist movements, the statement: "It is unknown, what are Anastasiya's political views," will obviously be perceived as a direct allegation. --Jaan Pärn (talk) 12:33, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

These are just silly tabloid accusations about her brother (not even about her!) Remember WP:BLP:

"Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid paper"

Aside from the obvious issue of reliable sources and WP:BLP, this stuff really isn't about her at all, it is about her brother a different person. Putting it here seems like trying to associate her with it. Ostap 23:40, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I love to include lines like:

Yeah, I've translated the first one incorrectly, but the second excerpt is a quote from the profiles of Prikhodko on eurovision.tv and esc.com, which should be ok.
